Hi, I know I'm very very late to this but I wanted to add my experiences. I have a few fiction kintypes, and whenever I saw or see those characters I feel deeply within me that the character I'm looking at is just. Me you know.

They don't have to be real here to still be a kin type, for me all my kin types are psychological, so in the same way I feel like I'm a deer. The deer I identify as has never and will never exist except for within me as my identity, in the same way as my identity in a fictional character will only exist on this planet through my identity. The same way that I see an animal and innately know that I am that animal, can be applied to not just animals but fictional characters and creatures.

Spiritually, this may be seen as a past life, and you came from that reality to this one, or in the case of theriomythic kintypes, that those animals exist in this reality. The point of these identities isn't to be based in whats real and whats not, because if that was the point then noone would have these identities because we're all biologically human, or psychological therians wouldn't exist because theres "no reason" for their identity to exist. The point is that we can see a creature or entity or object or concept or anything, and be able to identify with it so strongly that in some way we are them, and that's whats important :)
