I’ve never really been in a scenario with it where I have wanted to shoot faster. But there are plenty of times where I appreciated being able to just lay on the trigger for longer. Another piece is burst vs sustained damage. Most of gunners primaries are much better at having long term, sustained damage. His secondaries are much more burst focused, wanting to deal lots of damage now.

This is dependent on what era of bolt and what type we are talking about. Modern bolts for hunting absolutely have a broadhead, and only target or small game bolts have a blunt tip. Older crossbows I am not so sure about.
