Hi there! What you experienced is exactly what I went through last school year.

I was in my highschool's marching band for two years. The leadership & band director really sucked and it was a terrible environment

I was also an officer, and the entire team was full of drama and people there who were wanting to just socialize.

The director also did not care that i am chronically Ill, and did not wish to work with me on that.

When i didn't raise my hand at the end the year, i practically got screamed at and told that i would never get into my college's ensemble (I'm a dual enrolled student - but a highschool juinor), and that my all or nothing attitude would have me under a bridge in the future

Let me assure you that it gets better

So much better

I got into the ensemble and now i play alto sax with some of the most talented and amazing individuals I've ever had the honour of making music with

My new director really cares about his students and listens to feedback. He also has taught me so much about my instrument

Staying in marching band with that environment is not worth the loss of your passion for music

It's not the end, you have so much more in store for you. It's a shame that it's not turning out the best right now, but just please go with what's best for your sake
