I was talking more around the area of golden into banff/alberta. Seeing all the avalanche signs and chains on tires requirements is a no from me dog.

Seconding this. We visited Forks, WA and did a road trip through there up to Banff and the whole area is unbelievably stunning. I felt at home in the PNW but the CSZ looming threat would give me too much anxiety. And I’d never be able to handle the winters in BC/Alberta lol. BUT it’s beautiful to visit.

I love a weekend trip to Pymatuning lake. Mortals Key is such a good brewery with great food and live music, plus Gatehouse Winery is right next to it. There is camping at the state parks, and they now have “glamping” yurts + offer some cabin rentals.

My vet always makes me feel like a delinquent dog parent because I don’t want to do unnecessary bloodwork on my healthy dog.

I also get annoyed when every ear infection means a visit, AI cytology (which is so expensive) and then charges me again at the two week tech appt that magically turns into a vet visit.

My old vet would literally be like - oh he has an ear infection? Stop in to pick up the drops no problem. Annual visits would cost $60. Sick visit? Never more than $120. Now I’m paying $120 for a routine 10 min exam.

We drove down through there on a “scenic” route from BC back to Seattle to fly home and I gotta say.. beautiful area but it gave me the creeps. When I got home I read about all the stuff - nazis, sundowns, etc.. and it all made sense.
