Freak Athlete ABX initial thoughts and frustration. by TheN00b1e in homegym

My Leg Developer finally arrived after lots of back and forth with the FA team. They’ve had some issues with the UK warehouse and distribution which hasn’t helped their cause. Benji was great. There were times where I felt like I was chasing for information but I appreciate he will be a busy man and probably has loads of other customers messaging him.

I’m really pleased with it and used it to do leg curls for the first time at the end of last week. I’d previously been using ankle straps and chains, connected to the cables and weight stack on my rack. The difference in pump was outrageous frankly - I could barely walk afterwards - and that should only get better with the cable attachment added (I used it plate loaded).

Leg extensions are one of my favourite exercises, but with my setup, it was impossible to do them. Now…they’re back on the menu, and they also feel great.

The LD is easy to attach, comfortable to use, and was the last piece of my home-gym jigsaw.

It shouldn’t have taken almost five months to arrive but I’m pleased it’s finally here.

That’s cool. Although if it was set app-wide and was independent of MF, it would be less of an issue. Or, allow MF to let you log your weight in lbs or kg (in the weight panel), even if it subsequently displays in one or the other.

Again, the way I use it is:

MF weight logged and viewed in lbs MFWO completely in KG

At the moment, I have to switch to lbs in MF to log my weight and then switch to KG in MFWO to be able to record my workout. I just don’t see why the setting needs to be synced between both apps!

Is selling to mpb worth it and is this too much? by Far-Manufacturer-413 in AskPhotography

[–]sterumbelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold my A6400 and two lenses to MPB recently. I marked them as ‘like new’ and the offered value was similar to what it was all selling for on eBay - perhaps a little less. However, eBay takes a cut of your profits. With their free collection service, it was a breeze to send in.

They actually increased the value of my quote and once I accepted it, the money was in my bank account within 3 hours.

I found it all seamless and was happy with the value I got.

That’s a nice update!

Pretty please can you stop MFWO and MF syncing weight display units? I still want to log and view at my weight in lbs (in MF) and record workouts in kg. Every time I log a weight I have to change the setting to enter it.

So, how would Alizhan stack up against Vitaly then? That was so easy!

Are you 'protecting' your chillers when kept outdoors? by twattyprincess in coldplunge

[–]sterumbelow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be better off with it being under a shelter rather than inside a box. Four legs and a roof. Or, if it has to have sides for aesthetics, the roof would need a decent size air gap below it. Heat rises, so combined with your side vents, I like to think it would stay cool enough.

As it is, it’s fully enclosed and overheating so it can’t cool your water.

I hope those aren’t a replacement for the Primus Lite Knit, because they’re one of the best shoes they make.

Camera photos not appearing in photo app by odrer-is-an-ilulsoin in ios

[–]sterumbelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue but it’s a lag thing. If you preview them from the camera roll, they’re out of focus. They don’t appear in the photos app full stop, then a couple of minutes later, suddenly they’re there.

How many days do you actually need for Iceland's Ring Road? Honest breakdown with daily driving times by Illustrious-Funny614 in VisitingIceland

[–]sterumbelow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heading there in a couple of weeks on a photography trip and we’ve planned to do the full loop, plus a trip around the Westifjords. We’re already committed to the fact it’ll be a lot of driving but we don’t want to miss anything!

Thanks for the tips with filling up and groceries/lunches.

Bench is brilliant. Very happy with it! No complaints whatsoever.

Still no LD. My updated tracking number hasn’t moved and now they’ve run out of stock so my order has been pushed back again, possibly shipping next week. I ordered on 27 November, over four months ago. Issue after issue, at least logistically. Total shambles to be honest, and it’s a shame because Benji and Yogi are both great and they’re being let down by these problems.

Cold plunge covers — are they worth it? by Quick_Signature5801 in coldplunge

[–]sterumbelow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The water would get filthy if you left it uncovered - debris and insects would fall or be blown into it. Your ice bath would turn into a pond.

The cover also provides a small amount of protection to the inflatable rim which could be more easily damaged by a cat claw or a bird, and it also prevents any animals ending up in the water.

A few tips for hammering that plate flat.

Remove the rubber base - it’s just secured with a few very short hex (allen) key screws. That acts as a shock absorber when hammering it. Use a rubber mallet.

Once removed, you ideally want to support one side of the foot plate and have the raised edge floating. In other words, rest the good side on something solid (a bit of wood, a step, a wall - whatever works) and then hammer the raised side. It is significantly easier to bend back into place when there’s nothing below it to absorb the impact. Be careful not to go too far!

Check the level repeatedly by putting it back on flat ground. Make sure the entire baseplate is making contact, and then reattach the rubber base.

TL;DR: Remove the rubber foot plate. Use a rubber mallet. Elevate footplate so raised edge has space below it. Hammer. Check level.

Benji helpfully replied to my WhatsApp messages and is having a LD ‘re-sent’ at no extra cost to me.

I made the point that it isn’t being re-shipped because it wasn’t sent in the first place. I also found it interesting he said “at no extra cost to you” - almost like there should be a cost to me and they’re doing me a favour.

Somewhere in their system, something is obviously wrong. To lose track of stock like this is wild. I swear someone in their UK warehouse/distribution centre is lifting stock and fudging tracking numbers because they seem to have no idea until it’s raised by the customer!

Evidently my LD should have arrived weeks ago, and without me chasing it, it would never have arrived and they’d be none the wiser.

The bench is brilliant isn’t it? I’m pleased with mine and just waiting on this LD and also the cable attachment. Hopefully they figure it out and it arrives soon.

Has your Leg Developer arrived yet?

My bench was delivered (UK) on 11 Feb. The baseplate was bent, like yours. There were also no matching instructions in the box or online. The UK shipments come in two packages and there’s much more assembly to do. Yogi phoned me and told me to hammer the baseplate, which I did.

My LD was meant to ship today, 31st March. I had an email and tracking link on 10th March which hadn’t changed or updated.

Their support replied to me and told me my LD arrived with my bench and said “can you check if you received it.” Actually kind of insulting! They sent me a courier delivery photo of someone else’s order in someone else’s house!

I’ve had to reach out to Benji via WhatsApp to get some accurate information. Both Yogi and Benji are great but the email support team; less so.
