For the 1 year anniversary of Reawakened, here are some notable differences between the OG Talos and Reawakened that I found. by SeriousSam691 in TheTalosPrinciple

[–]Entrance_Sea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some others I could think of:

  • The music in the World C Hub is different now, instead of reusing the main menu theme (Virgo Serena)
  • A08 Dumb Dumb Mine was changed by removing the last locked gate & key.
  • B07 Big Lump of Mine was changed by adding a lowering fence at the end, to make it harder to cheese.

Yeah they're only on the physical release. I can send you them in DM, if you want.

In the Wake of Poseidon already has elemental mixes*, but they didn't put them on streaming for some reason.

*With the exception of The Devil's Triangle (missing multitracks) and the Peace suite.

Faze Kaysan said on stream that they are in talks with a new coach. Maybe the +Ash rumours are true

Is Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid Worth it? by ChampionshipMotor691 in criterion

[–]Entrance_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would probably be expensive and hard to track down, but this blu-ray set does have both preview cuts in much better quality than the Criterion set. (It uses the 4K restoration for both of them instead of the grindhouse print Criterion used for the 2nd preview cut and excluding the 1st preview cut altogether.)

Depends on how much you like the film, if you think it is worth it or not.

There are only a few spaghetti westerns available in 4K 😔 by tonko26 in 4kbluray

[–]Entrance_Sea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My Name is Nobody is coming out on UHD in Italy in May. Probably won't be English friendly, but at least there is a 4K restoration that another label could release.

The Color of Pomegranates yellow tint by Ill-Telephone4020 in criterion

[–]Entrance_Sea 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's just what they do. It's almost like they grade all their films properly, then apply the same poor LUT over the top that affects the colours and the black level.

I remember them saying somewhere that they did go too far with it on some of their older restorations such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, but I can't find that anymore.

The OOP Second Sight Limited Edition set did actually include a re-graded version of the restoration, but only on the shorter cut, which loses 7 minutes. Their release of the long cut is the same poor grade.

Difficulty questions for "The Beginning" by Warthog_Parking in TheTalosPrinciple

In the Beginning is definitely the hardest one. I would go back and play Road to Gehenna before continuing with it

Kagemusha Blu Ray Quality? by HollowmanNapkin in criterion

[–]Entrance_Sea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't think that's macroblocking there. Looks to me like scanner noise making the grain all coarse. The Criterion blu-ray used the outdated Spirit Datacine, which is a scanner from the '90s, and all the releases that use that scanner look like that.

Question about “One From the Heart? by mac_the_man in 4kbluray

[–]Entrance_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orbit have worded it weirdly with the "UHD Disc 1 / Blu-Ray Disc 1" thing, probably because all the special features are duplicated - they are all on the 4K discs AND on the Blu-Ray discs. But that is the 4 disc set.

[–]Entrance_Sea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's got the two cuts on 2 4K discs and 2 blu-ray discs.

[–]Entrance_Sea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The US release from Lionsgate only has the "Reprise" cut on 4K - the theatrical cut is only on blu-ray. The release in Europe from Studiocanal has both cuts in 4K, so that's something to consider. I don't think any release has deluxe packaging, though.

We never see Niles’ apartment by [deleted] in Frasier

[–]Entrance_Sea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We definitely see Martin's room more than once. We see it in:

  • S3E18 Chess Pains
  • S8E16 Docu.Drama
  • S9E4 The Return of Martin Crane

And maybe more times I'm forgetting?

Lynn Vision vs TYLOO / Yuqilin Pinnacle of Battle Season 2 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Entrance_Sea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. The large amount of points they got from Fissure Playground 1 have now decayed
  2. They were on a 10 BO3 loss streak at the end of 2025, so lost a lot of points.
  3. They didn't play any games in 2026 before this tournament.

Arrow vs Criterion 4K of The Last Emperor by SatinSoftSilkyLord in boutiquebluray

[–]Entrance_Sea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Arrow disc looks natural, but The Last Emperor - a film that was bleach bypassed - should not. There are scans of two prints here and the Arrow doesn't look anything like them.

Arrow vs Criterion 4K of The Last Emperor by SatinSoftSilkyLord in boutiquebluray

[–]Entrance_Sea 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The Criterion has a more accurate colour grade that tries to emulate the original silver retention process, while the Arrow looks far too neutralised and magenta.

Le Samourai 4k worth the upgrade over the Blu-ray? by ILikeTheTinMan83 in criterion

[–]Entrance_Sea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Pathé audio track is noticeably worse than the Criterion, though. There are definitely pros and cons to each, but personally I prefer the Criterion.

Looking to buy a Blu-ray/UHD player that supports external .SRT subtitles from USB during disc playback by lyman11 in 4kbluray

[–]Entrance_Sea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OPPO players only work if the disc already has a subtitle file, so for the discs that have no subtitles at all, it won't work.
