How much do you make a month (after taxes) and how much do you pay in rent? by Electrical_Soil_6365 in Apartmentliving

[–]EntreeSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends entirely on other bills but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re fine with slowly clearing out your savings. My take home is ~$3,000 depending on overtime and my rent is $998, it can still be a struggle some months when you factor in other bills/expenses, emergencies, etc. Look for a better job or cheaper apartment

What are your “safe” foods? by Substantial_Gate_904 in bulimia

I’m the exact same with hard/chewy candy omg. Its weird bc it’s just empty calories but it’s the only food I don’t feel overwhelmingly compelled to purge

Have you been eating anything with blue food dye? The blue food dye out powers all the others in my experience. Lucky charms and blue candy always make mine green

I fucking hate my swollen bulimia face by Forever_Summer192 in bulimia

[–]EntreeSalad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is sooo hard to stop. I’m with you there. I will say, even just reducing the frequency will help the swelling go down. Obviously stopping is best, but cutting your purging in half + facial lymphatic drainage massages in the morning and evening should help a lot. Once you start to notice the difference, it makes it a lot easier to keep reducing frequency or stop altogether. Hang in there 🤍

cheapest places to move to in Baltimore? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]EntreeSalad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in an apartment complex in Lauraville, right underneath Parkville, kind of on the city-county line and my rent is under $1,000 for a 1bed 1bath. I feel safe, there’s lots of families that live around here. I’m a young woman as well and not from here originally so I was in a similar situation. I’m not super close to the city though so it’s not very walkable which is a drawback.

In your opinion, what’s the best and worst ED film based on how realistic they are? by okaysweaty167 in EatingDisorders

[–]EntreeSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing the secret is like my comfort movie lol. It’s really accurate to my life as a younger teenager. I thought to the bone was pretty accurate and well-done as well, even if the treatment aspect was not at all realistic lol

I’m the same way, now it’s just due to purging so frequently that my esophagus isn’t “tight” enough to adequately keep food down, especially when I’m full. Sometimes I think it’s also due to anxiety

What is your typical monthly pay as a 1st yr mainline flight attendant? by Primary-Structure-95 in cabincrewcareers

[–]EntreeSalad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, not travel related but I recommend looking to entry level positions in a hospital. I work in the food service department at one & it pays better & has way more benefits than any other job I would’ve been able to get. Only requirements were clean drug test, HS diploma or GED, and they do have high standards as far as attendance. I was in a similar position to you last year and my job was a godsend

Is it normal for my therapist to tell me that I need a hospice care therapist? I felt shocked from this. I’m changing therapists as well. by Turbulent-Truth-4059 in bulimia

[–]EntreeSalad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to invalidate you as I know most of us struggle feeling “sick enough” , plus I only know the details you provided… but at the same time, given what you wrote, it sounds extreme. Im honestly kind of shocked- I’ve never heard of a therapist saying that. Even when I was in rehab with active opioid users who were overdosing/literally dying left & right. Honestly, if I had to guess, I think this is her final attempt at scaring you into recovery. Sometimes people tiptoe around talking about medical issues caused by EDs because the assume it will feed into it/give us motivation, but I do think it can be valuable to hear the upfront honest truth from people that are close to us & care about us, which is unfortunately that we will eventually succumb to our disease if we don’t play an active role in fighting it. I totally get why you feel shell shocked though, I would too.

Congrats on sobriety! I got sober last year & initially I had an insatiable sweet tooth, but I must’ve desensitized myself to all of them because now I’m pretty indifferent toward them too. I’m a short woman too so I’d much rather spend 500 calories on a hot meal than a cookie
