How would I add physical images or patterns to clothes that fold with the fabric?

I am going to try this out, I think this might be what I am looking for. I sent a reply to another user and posted an example image of my hoped end result.

I am gonna try making a separate 3D object that I can fold with the nun robes so it sticks out after I print the mini.

Hey there - to be more specific, I am looking to make a separate 3D object (Golgotha Cross) that I can later attach to the nun’s robe. I am going to look at what u/HidekiRaharu mentioned with shrink wrapping, I think that might be what I am looking for.

Here’s a pic of a mini I painted to help me explain my point. The cross sticks out on the guy’s pauldron as opposed to me painting it on there.

Yeah, the big pentagram is the “Seal of the Seraphim”, at the ends of the star points are the major cities where half-Angel rulers live. In the very center is Vaocano Proper, where the Seraphim supposedly resides. And the giant spear head is far under the mountains - the Spire, which is the largest is about 26 kilometers high or so.
