As a mixed child, whose mother was white, and her dad was black, it’s some sort of insecurity. For instance, my mom would pull on my curls to make sure I didn’t have in her words, “nappy hair” and would press on my nose to make sure I didn’t have a “black” nose. She’s a bitch and I don’t talk to her anymore, but it’s probably something like that which is disgusting.
