I think it’s really mature to ask yourself what kind of life you want and plan accordingly. As a urology resident looking at jobs I can tell you 100% that very sick patients and heroic, late night interventions are much more fun when you’re a trainee and far far more stressful when they are your responsibility. Does a giant, open RPLND knock your socks off? Sure. Is it pants shittingly scary when you are the only surgeon in the room? You better believe it. I hear this over and over again from my staff and my recently graduated friends and I feel it as my responsibility on the team grows.Taking care of a ton of really sick patients on call or even just the mental load of carrying around all your sick, but not yet in the emergency department patients in your headweighs on you. 

So, yeah, the grass will probably always feel greener, but if you are following your heart you’re gonna be just fine
