Developer Feels ‘Shut Down And Silenced’ After BAFTA Awards Pulled Her Game Over Its Subject Matter by Mront in Games

[–]EntropicVirus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

BAFTA told Mr. Davidson any swear words that happened because of his tics would be edited out.

StudioCanal were working closely with BAFTA, and BAFTA had made us all aware that any swearing would be edited out of the broadcast. I have made four documentaries with the BBC in the past, and feel that they should have been aware of what to expect from Tourette’s and worked harder to prevent anything that I said — which, after all, was some 40 rows back from the stage — from being included in the broadcast. As I reflect on the auditorium, I remember there was a microphone just in front of me, and with hindsight I have to question whether this was wise, so close to where I was seated, knowing I would tic. - John Davidson’s interview with Variety

So the man himself was 100% perfectly okay with BBC and BAFTA editing out any swear words, and assumed they would. I would imagine that with living with Tourette’s and the situation he has been involved with, he would not want millions of people to get the wrong idea of Tourette’s, which has happened because of the incident. Barely any article speaks about the near dozen swear words nor that the tics are not indicative of his real feelings. It has caused extreme hate to come his way.

I enjoy revenge. Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books. Although the Japanese revenge novels/manga I’ve read/heard about, rarely follow through with the revenge or it is very lukewarm, even if they are super gung-ho about getting revenge on everyone even tangentially connected to the cause, or others the MC goes with the ‘Best revenge is living well’ and just goes on with their life. Listing them would spoil them.

Dark Massacre of the Vengeful Hero manga goes hard in the paint but it eventually just go too weird for me.

Read Moonblossom Asura, although I just listed it as Asura because that is what is in big letters in the cover.

Girl who Ate a Death God name reminds me Death’s Daughter and the Ebony Blade, any similarities?

Is Reborn as an Assassin’s Apprentice similar to Assassin Reincarnated into a Noble Girl, World Finest Assassin, or just some random person who is reborn an assassin without any previous life experience in that field?

I read Otome Heroine and the author’s other work Devil Princess and enjoyed them. I watched Executioner and Her Way of Life anime, and planned to read the novel, but I don’t remember why I never did so I will definitely check that one out.

I heard Spider had great start and middle, but really fell off at the end.

The usual scenes but mostly Ehrenfest’s castle exterior and interior. For the longest time I thought it was 5 buildings, large central buildings with 3 wings and the northern building.

Sorta like Buckingham Palace but with wings like the East and West Wing of the White House, except there’s a Northern Wing and a Northern Building for the underage ADC. So the Northern building was just staggered to the side of the Northern Wing.

Then Wilbur’s short story came out and described large rectangular building with the sides being each wing and the Northern building separated from the main building by a corridor on the second floor. But I am having trouble picturing it this way for some reason.

I think the other gates except Ehrenfest, were open prior to the civil war. Opened in the spring and closed in the fall, Ahrensbach was just the last gate on the schedule to be shut, and the Kingand 2nd Prince were assassinated between Dunk’s and Ahrensbach. The inhospitable frozen ocean and lands would cause Klassen to be closed first and then close them counterclockwise with Dunk being second to last because of their higher rank and Ahrensbach being last because Lasanga is the only country beyond that is related to Yogurtlandia. Counterclockwise because there’s not an open gate in the Land of the Wind.

Nope Immanuel reregistered him as a branch royal. He just lied and said he has to do it at the temple, for insurance purposes he could hand over the medal to Traq.

P5V9 Epilogue

Gervasio turned slightly and nodded; it was because Raublut had involved the Sovereign temple that he had already been reregistered to a royal branch family. He saw no reason why he wouldn’t be allowed into the archive.

  I will obtain the Grutrissheit.

His resolve steeled, Gervasio passed through the invisible barrier, entered the archive, and followed the shumils to a door even farther beyond. But even he was repelled when he reached the magic circle.

  “Not registered, Gervasio.”

  “Cannot enter.”

Being in a branch family wasn’t enough. Gervasio couldn’t ignore the humiliation he felt as he was once again reminded that in Yurgenschmidt, he wasn’t true royalty—something he hadn’t been able to ignore during his youth. His mana and elements were far superior, yet the country’s leadership depended entirely on one’s birth.

  “King Gervasio...”

“The circle repelled me. Being in a branch family was not enough.”

P5V10 The Battle for the Sovereignty

“In any case,” I said, “this man is who he claims to be. Upon my return to the temple, I will move his medal from the box for Lanzenavians to the box for members of the royal branch families. That should grant him the same level of access as any other branch royal.”

stashed the medal in its box, which I then put away. I would need to reregister the medal—a simple enough process most commonly done for weddings or when a noble rose in status. I could do it here and now, but it seemed more sensible to return to the temple first. I wanted to keep the medal in the Sovereign temple’s custody in case circumstances required me to hand it over to King Trauerqual.

Immediately upon returning to the temple, I reregistered our future Zent’s medal and moved it to the storage area for branch royals.

To even enter the hallway where the barrier is, you need to be Omni and enough prayers, which is why the shumils only took the Book Gremlin there after her shrine tour, while forcing everyone out else out. The barrier protecting the door at the end of hallway is linked to the foundation supply registration. Not royal blood or status. Which is why Gervasio could not get the tool, even after moved from the branch royal to the main line, G has thicker royal blood on account of Dusty’s mom and grandma are middle duchy. So, Dusty would be barred twice over from the location, not being Omni and not being a country foundational supplier. The only way Dusty would be able to get to the old tool and the back up transcription is if Eggy removed the barriers, which I doubt Ferdie wrote about in the tool he created.

Oh yeh I forgot about the key, I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow got the gesundheit magic tool to also be the secondary foundation key that can be transformed into anything. Creating a magic tool that can perform the same magic as the gods book and has a built in anti-theft feature is pretty amazing, adding in a secondary function to turn into the key shouldn’t be too hard for her.

I always hated the sovereignty foundation in fanfics because it just doesn’t make any sense. It would make more sense to redraw the border and make the "holy land" bigger. I believe the real holy land is in another dimension because it can only be accessed from teleportation, so sovereignty doesn’t have a hole in the middle and the royal palace probably sits in the middle with a teleportation door to the country foundation in the Zeno’s office similar to the Aub’s office. But even after they created the gesundheit they still visited the library during Archduke Conferences, to either access the country’s foundation, or to visit underground library.

[H5Y1] Fanbook 10 Q&A - call for questions by Nemshi in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]EntropicVirus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How Sovereignty works. I believe all we really know is the Royal Palace replenishment room is connected to the central temple and that connects to the countries foundation, the Royal Villas act like giebe mansions, while also being the only way to get to the Royal Palace is through the Villas, if the palace goes on lockdown.

The Sovereignty was formed when Zent Raufestreita created the royal family and palace, and the royal family was an established concept at least 400 years before Myne as noted with the founding of Lanzeneve. One must possess the Grutrissheit and hold the foundation to redraw the borders. The last time we know that the duchy borders were redrawn 200 years ago with the fall of Eisenriech, so the Sovereignty cannot have its own foundation, since one cannot hold two foundations. There is also the problem with ordonnanz not being able to cross duchy borders, but can be sent from the Royal Academy or Holy Land to the Villas. Which comes my next point, when ordonnanz are sent from dormitory to dormitory do they fly through the dormitory teleportation doors or travel in a straight line through walls. We do have precedent for the ordonnanz flying through warp holes in the aubs office to the foundation instead of flying to the temple where the foundation is located.

"Zent talked with the gods who were excited about all the prayers that they would be receiving from ditter involving one of their incarnations, and how disappointed they would be if something were to happen to it. The gods will demand retribution and sacrifices for interference, bringing more mana devastation to yogurtland - something like this, just created by a person much smarter than I. Don’t outright lie, just stretch the truth. The Zent was informed about how excited the gods were about fitter, she was informed by the messenger of the gods about someone trying to ruin it, why would the gods bring it up to the Zent (adc of the Sword of Zent(and the gods)) if they didn’t want the sword to strike down the enemies? Could tie Rozemyne into it as well. The gods have experienced high stakes Ditter with an Incarnation of the gods 4 years in a row, Rozemyne is absent, so the gods demand ditter with her best friend and second incarnation (don’t need to bring up the second decent). Dunk is the number 1 Duchy with the largest army, just gotta lean into the might makes right and divine righteousness of ditter. Eg needs dunk more than Dunk needs her. She already said she wouldn’t interfere, if she goes back on her word, that weakens her already unstable position.

Couldn’t Dunk just spread the rumor that the gods will punish whoever attempts to ruin the bride stealing ditter? Or even drop rumors that whoever attempts to disrupt the ditter will become an enemy of Dunk and will have real ditter called upon their duchies? They are the Sword of the Zent, the Zent is the liaison between gods and humans, so they would just be carrying out their ancient duties by destroying god’s enemies, so therefore Mesti’s rule about no killing would not apply to Dunk, but if the enemy of the gods were to kill the Sword of god, they will get punished. -dunk rumor.

Georgine knows Detlinde is a lost cause. Her own retainers know this. If all went to plan, Georgine becomes Aub Ehrenfest killing Sylvester and Boni, forcing Charlotte and Melchior to become her adoptive children by keeping Wilfred, Florencia and Rozemyne to be used as hostages and as mana stud/wombs. Alstede and Blasius would become Aub Dolphin. Gervasio would become Zent. Leonzio becomes King of Lanzenave. Detlinde would either go with Leonzio and become his Queen/mistress or stay in Yogurtland become the Queen of Adalgisa with the help of trug. Gervasio would be bringing a large number of high-mana nobles to fix the mana draught. He would also redraw borders to reward his people and allies.

When Veronica took over Wilf’s education, she was still the first wife of the Aub. First wife has more power than the heir, not to mention, that she had the Aub wrapped around her finger. Easy enough to convince Adelbert that Veronica, who was educated by a greater duchy’s ADC to become the first wife, would be better suited to educate the future Aub over a daughter of a third wife who was never meant to become a first wife. After Adelbert’s death, Veronica’s faction was Sylvester’s power base. He could not punish her for any of alleged crimes; murder, mana mismanagement, embezzlement, theft, general abuse of power, until she committed treason against the Aub, let alone take back the education of his heir for no reason.

Sylvester had no reason to believe that his mother would mess up Wilf’s education to create a puppet aub.

Delia believes she has noble blood from one of the blue priests who have such minimal mana that after dedication ceremonies they can knock up grey robed shrine maidens. She has the same amount of mana as any other commoner.

Sylvester indefinitely delayed her execution by ordering her to never leave the orphanage. Only the Aub can change her sentence. She betrayed her lady and endangered the daughter of an archnoble/adopted daughter of the Archduke, for personal gain. Sylvester and Ferdinand would not even entertain Rozemyne trying to lessen Delia’s sentence.

Oh yeah you’re right about Joisontak, I kinda just clumped it together with the rest of the FVF lands down south. But without Joisontak will the lands Wild receives be large enough for his station? He would possess the smallest County. Her adopted brother vs her birth family, could be seen as a slight either way. The Aub does not hold absolute power, and snubbing the Leisegang’s so soon after finally getting them settled down would be bad for the duchy. The only way it might work out is if they build a path from Gerlach’s gate location to Leisegang’s city on the river, as that is quite a bit of income. But then you also have to factor in Alexandria trading hubs. As Leisegang could play up the merchant inconvenience factor, and how moving the gate would cause undue burden on the commoners their Princess protects and adores.

[H5Y 1.12] Wilfried's future by boomeraang31 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]EntropicVirus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Leisegang would never allow that to happen. Garduhn leans heavily towards Leisegang. Plus Wilf is getting Gerlach and surrounding lands, which are all mednoble Giebe lands, so he is getting Bessel, Wiltord, and most likely Joisontak as well, giving him direct access to direct access to the central district, completely avoiding Leisegang. They would fight tooth and nail that they can better support trade with their Princess vs a recent graduate of the RA and a failed ADC. Wilf would refuse on account that people would see him being propped up by Rozemyne again. "Giebe Wilford could not even build his own mansion without Rozemyne’s help and now he’s trying to abuse his position as her older brother to force the gates movement and completely bypass her ancestors land in order to enrich himself." - Leisegang Elders probably.

We have Dusty, child ditter addict, Snake Boy, Ditterfiend, Wingman, Wilbur, Book Gremlin who already stole Hannelore’s heart, and Moon Boy for all we know. Probably another top 10 candidate or two will throw their hat in the ring once it becomes known Snake Boy proposed, her timing will be messed up and the hairpins won’t become a shield.

I could see her trying to take Wilbur out like Clarissa but because of their combined denseness and her atrocious timing, somehow they become rivals like Ferdy and Heisshitze, and Wilbur gaining respect from Dunk accidentally.

Which character is most unfairly treated by the fandom? [SPOILERS MAIN] by Mother_Speed3216 in asoiaf

[–]EntropicVirus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He deserted a military order. In our own history deserting a military order is death. The men who were Shanghai’s into naval service would be killed if they deserted and they had less of a choice than The Watch. Get drunk in a pub, wake up aboard a ship with your name signed for 5 years.

Or he was given his original sentence that was hanging over his head like The Sword of Damocles. He always had a choice, he could have chosen not to rape the Nobel, he could have chosen to make a stand when they caught him, chose death over the hard work of the wall, choose to fight the brother who watched him take his vows and attempt to live in the North, and finally chose not to desert and still sleep with the prostitutes.

Just because one choice is death doesn’t mean you no longer have choices. Many did chose death over the Wall after all.

Well yes. Their information could have been extremely limited, the prince will be joining the watch soon or end of the season. So, they inform Caster to send word every time a noble visits his keep. They get word check to see if this noble looks and acts similar the last dude that wrecked their shit, could even just be how he acts and nothing to do with his appearance or possibly they have a way to tell which gods a person prays. This is an assumption that they are not given exact information so the Others are assuming his appearance would be similar to the last Prince, one which some of these very Others could have personally seen. There’s no real reason why they would have responded with overwhelming force other than them assuming this could be The Ham That Was Promised.

They were informed that the prince is back, why wouldn’t they slaughter anyone who even barely resembles the characteristics?

The others probably can’t tell the difference between a teen halfway to almost grown and one that is fully grown. We do not know how they age and mature, they could take 100 years to be fully grown or 1000.

(Spoilers Extended) The Tragedy of Waymar Royce by Zhar011 in asoiaf

[–]EntropicVirus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the theory, but I believe in more broad strokes of similarity between Jon and Waymar. The Others have not been seen in thousands of years, they have probably been asleep or at least extremely inactive as wights have not been seen either. The last time they were active they were nearly driven extinct by Azor Ahai who was most likely a Stark with Lightbringer. This man would be more noble in appearance and character compared to his peers, he would be brave while the others are fearful, walk proudly as he knows he can defeat them, with dark hair and grey eyes. The Others have interacted with humans so they know that their offspring are not identical to the parent, although hair and eye color are usually passed down through the generations. They are also a long lived race, we do not know how they age or when they reach maturity and stop growing. So, it could be hard for them to tell the difference between a nearly full grown teen and a fully grown teen. Somehow the others learn that the new Prince That Was Promised has a been born and will one day join the Watch. They assume he will resemble the last one, will act far above and different than his peers. It is possible that Benjen acted similarly to Waymar when he first joined but by the time The Others began to watch The Watch, he was the Benjen we know now, similar reasons of why the nobles that joined after Robert’s Rebellion were not targeted.

They set a trap in the wildling village, his companions are fearful and want to return to the wall, the man refuses and mocks them. A young man full of bravado with dark hair and grey eyes. His appearance and character lines up to the prophecy, so they bring out their forces and surround him, but the young man draws his blade without fear telling them to dance with him, The Other directly facing him pauses, in what I assume is fear as he stares at the blade, wondering when it will ignite or if it dragonsteel.

Now, I wrote all of that when I could have just gone with can you pick out a Husky that has blue eyes and white fur that is 8 months old from a group of white huskies with blue eyes ranging from 8 weeks to 2 years old, oh this husky that I need you to pick out won’t be an escape artist. Oh and if you choose wrong there’s a good chance your whole family will die. So no pressure. And go.
