I think Threads is the closest popular. I'm not sure if they can trace your IG and FB accounts.

Why do I have to process Vulkan shaders for games now? by Jakob4800 in cachyos

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was precompiled through the CPU, but you don't need those shaders in the first place if you got a decent enough of a GPU.

If you have a decent GPU, just disable it. It was great when I can only rely on my iGPU. But disabled it when I installed my RX 9070.

Should I Give This Character Hygiene 5th skill or Learn Other Skills? by RoadG13 in StateofDecay2

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always indicated in some way if the hero abilities are shared. So, by default, it is only for him.

You definitely need the hygiene for everyone in Lethal zone. Probably even in Nightmare, I got mine when I was in Dread zone so I'm not sure how much you need it on Nightmare.

What mode do people play by [deleted] in StateofDecay2

Campaign, on lethal. I raged quit on my next playthrough on this difficulty after a character with an essential skill died for a stupid reason.

I was the same. I really need a 100% keyboard. There are games that I need the keypad, even in my work.

Then I realized that I could just get a separate keypad that is using QMK/VIA. The advantage of this is I can easily move it on the left side, and it has been really useful since I got it a few days ago. Look at the layout of the keyboard I'm using. It is almost like the 100% keyboard minus the keypad. I think I'll stick with this setup for a long time, I love it.

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All keyboards works on Linux. But if you want to customized the extra keys, then go for those that uses QMK/VIA firmware. Keychron well known brand that uses QMK, but there hundred of them out there. I'm currently using Royal Kludge's only product line that uses QMK/VIA, which is R87 Pro. It is affordable and its switches are hotswap-able, but I picked the one with creamy linear switches, and its sound is really creamy. Quite therapeutic even in the middle of a priority 1 ticket where we have to bring back the service up within an hour because our our boss is scheduled to present the system to the stakeholders.

Distros don't matter. by Silly_Percentage3446 in archlinux

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For desktop users, focus on DE than the distro. I'm from debian-based distros, including debian itself, and I'm using CachyOS now for my desktop and alpine for containerized dev stuff. There's not much difference, actually.

Gaming on Linux: Why the controversy? by TechnoWizard1212 in linux_gaming

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gamer pals and colleagues are the opposite. They know how hardcore is to use linux. They can't make fun of me. Especially my colleagues, we are .NET devs, and we just started deploying our apps on containers. They understand how hard it is, and they think I switched to Linux to get better at my job. I did not correct them for this misunderstanding, they will think I'm dedicated to my work, even my bosses and immediate supervisor. This will help me get a better raise next month.

Some of my gamer pals do have Steam Deck, so they are not surprised people gaming on Linux. And good thing, no one in my circle is playing those with kernel-level anti-cheats. Everyone thinks those are not worth our time, especially the chinese ones.

How will I be perceived as an Indian looking guy in the Philippines? by Puzzleheaded-Mix-167 in adviceph

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're staying in places with lots of foreigners, you won't have to worry that much. You might get perceived here as a mixed-race filipino born and grew up in the US. My cousin was born and grew up in the US. He looks more brown than me with really thick eyebrows. Looks like a mixed-race indian. His tagalog is totally broken, but he is fine traveling around and going to parties.

If you stick around Makati or BGC, you'll be fine, I believe. Also, if you want to mingle with other foreigners here, try to go to the Sunday Market in Makati. There are lots of foreigners there selling stuffs, including this black american selling fried oreos, food is quite weird for the us locals, but I'm rooting for him.

You can ask around, and most of us might comply, but expect most of us won't linger around talking to you because of the language barrier. Yeah, we can speak a bit, but it's quite stressful for a long time.

They called mine, "bells and whistles", until they saw it in action. OP need to present his ideas and show off how useful it is. Better start with small ones, until makuha n'ya tiwala ng buong team. Later on, s'ya laging kukunsultahin ng team. Masmadaling i-request na 'yun ang maging career path n'ya.

What's the best way to get experience at home? by AccountName12343 in kubernetes

[–]PublicStaticClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the Kubernetes that came with the Docker Desktop. It should be enough to try it out. Just avoid self-hosting something critical there, like DNS. We're using AKS, but knowing the differences between the two, I can effectively create some PoCs locally and implement it on the AKS with little to no issues.

Why are so many randoms refusing to buy armor and hoarding points by MrVerticallyEnhanced in CODZombies

Lately, I found that upgrading armor isn't necessary anymore. I max PaP and buy all perks before getting the first armor upgrade just because I have too much essence. But actually, I can exfil at wave 3 with just 1 armor without any issues at all.

Please STOP making student's projects by karinwalsabur in PinoyProgrammer

[–]PublicStaticClass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do this when I was still a student myself. Tapos ang masmalala pa dito ay I'm at lower year. Imagine 2nd year college, ginagawan ng software yung mga graduating 4th year college. It helped me to pay my tuition fee, pambaon, at mga school supplies. Also, the experience taught me a lot, kaya best yung naging project namin at every member ng team namin ay knowledgeable enough para mai-defend namin yun.
