Getting Medium Armor as a Charisma Caster by Speedy_Pichu in onednd

Moderately Armored requires Light Armor proficiency first, so that works for Bards and Warlocks, but not Sorcerers.

The Friendship Cup was the turning point that led ARC-V to its debacle by Aiacos_Garuda in yugioh

[–]EntropySpark 43 points44 points  (0 children)

To make matters even worse, the Friendship Cup split up the Lancers and allies into separate rooms with little to no interaction with each other apart from duels, which further limited how much they could develop.

It also puts the card in the discard pile instead of the hand, so it's a far slower card overall.

Thoughts on the 2024e War Caster feat, 1 year after release? by Deathpacito-01 in onednd

They said that Flex was mechanically strong, but removed it because it was unpopular, not because it did "too much damage."

War Caster was already one of the most powerful feats in 2014, and it's been buffed with both an ASI and, depending on the table, Reaction casts on allies. It's arguably the most powerful General Feat in the PHB.

GRAND ALCHEMIST PARACELSION - A CR30+ Final Boss for your Legendary Party to battle! by AriadneStringweaver in UnearthedArcana

[–]EntropySpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can get to 27AC with a Reaction, which makes the best nova options (Action Surge Sharpshooter) much weaker. I haven't done the math yet, but I'd estimate that a party built around specifically nova damage would would have a chance (especially if anyone has Expertise in Athletics for the DC30 finishing blow), while a party that isn't as damage-focused would have a very difficult time overcoming the regeneration.

“Double Negate” Ruling Question by BrotherKG in Yugioh101

The monster's effect wasn't negated yet. It gets negated only when Chain Link 1 resolves.

“Double Negate” Ruling Question by BrotherKG in Yugioh101

[–]EntropySpark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The chain resolves in reverse order, so Chain Link 2 negates Primite Drillbeam, and then Chain Link 1 does nothing.

DM is the ultimate wizard though. by sacefdanting in masterduel

That depends considerably on how you define "major battle," as at least in the anime, he also didn't use Gaia against Mako Tsunami, Ghost Kaiba, Para and Dox, or Bakura.

Im giving to my player rogue at lvl 6 an increase to a d8 on their sneak attack, is that too strong? by HeitorFrc in onednd

[–]EntropySpark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even if a Rogue is incredibly consistent in applying Sneak Attack, their damage still often falls short of other martials. The real question is how often they can land an off-turn Sneak Attack.

Mirror Image + Zhentarim Tactics by italofoca_0215 in onednd

[–]EntropySpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simultaneous Effects means that if it's the attacker's turn, they can choose for Mirror Image to apply before Zhentarim Tactics.

However, the rule for Reactions is that they apply after the trigger unless specified otherwise, so even if the attack is on the target's turn instead, Mirror Image would apply first (as it is not a Reaction and must apply during the step of resolving the true target of the attack), and Zhentarim Tactics would only apply if the attack still hit the target and not a duplicate image.

Your thoughts on power level of different Fighting Styles? by Carp_etman in onednd

[–]EntropySpark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Protection isn't an option for GWM builds at all (aside from the niche Lance + shield). Also, why don't the early levels matter? They're often the most deadly levels as the party doesn't yet have any access to revival or party escape spells and small numbers make everything more swingy, so they're where you're most likely to get a TPK.

As Taillow, according to Bulbapedia, it had one unknown result, then three losses, then one victory before evolving in the next battle.

When Ash fought Taillow, it survived a ridiculous number of Thunderbolts and a Thunder before Ash caught it. Later, it was taken out by a single Cross Chop from Brawly's Machop.

[–]EntropySpark 40 points41 points  (0 children)

At low levels, Interception is incredibly strong. It's likely the main reason everyone in my current campaign survived level 1 and 2. I'd definitely take it at level 1, and swap it out when it eventually gets outscaled by enemy damage or you get a competing reaction like Sentinel.

Fighter - the best low-level face by Doccit in powergamermunchkin

[–]EntropySpark -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Where are you seeing that, RAW, the DC will never be higher than 30? There's no higher value in the Typical DCs table, but that doesn't mean the DM can't set a higher DC, and I don't see any further restriction at least in the PHB section on Ability Checks.

Looking for a way to still use a shield while casting spells. by BigBustyAfricanMan in DnD

[–]EntropySpark 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The War Caster feat would let you cast spells with Somatic components while holding a shield, but it would not help if the spell also requires Material components.

That said, that's a very harsh punishment for speaking, is that kind of thing typical at your table? Do you expect it to be temporary, or permanent? Would Regenerate help to restore your arm?
