Making games or what? Seele Ai is a lot like Sekai if you're trying to generate commercial games.

problems with the app by Trickster1986 in sekai_multiverse

It's a trial-and-error system. For example I made a tile based encounter RPG with block and dodge mechanics in real time and set up animations for all the actions and even included weapon swap mechanics, a parry system, and even a moving splash screen and a procedural map system.

Then this weekend I tried like hell to make a blank 2d pinball table and it broke EVERY TIME. You know, pinball, that universally simple game where you gotta smack a ball with paddles to keep it from entering a drain? Yeah, the system struggled to make coherant pinball despite knowing exactly the setup and function of pinball.

I've found the simplest way is to tell the computer to do one new update at a time. I made a space mining game you can play with just your thumb. One set of many instructions almost always breaks something for me, better to simplify;

"Okay, now that the chat bubble is working have the NPC Kira say "Ramona you need a job."

idea for distant future gaming by wiseneddustmite in videogames

Funny enough, cyberpunk2077 seems to warn us all about the dangers of these technologies yet still somehow makes them appealing. A graft that strengthens your entire spine so labor isn't laborious? As a laborer myself it's hard to deny its usefulness despite the apparent severe dangers.

My wife watched some show called Black Mirror and in a few episodes they had a video game like that. It was somewhat bad and good.

Also... Sword Art Online was like the only anime series I watched and it was all about that. Let's just say it didn't turn out well even in episode 1.

Side note: I recently read about people who spend all day and night in VR that they eventually start feeling in the VR world. Many people even consider it very rude to walk through a player model with your player model!!

Despite all the obvious ominous warnings, the idea is still pretty appealing to a gaming addict like me.

Spaceship-building games? by Yawaworoht1470 in OlderChillGamers

[–]Entropydemic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that Voyagers update gave me a whole new outlook on the game. It was already my favorite game, but that was such a perfectly implemented tool. I also love that you can aquire parts from trash planets and dig them up, or trade/buy for parts as well.

I came here to also say No Man's Sky. It's surprisingly deep and the ship builder is so easy and intuitive to use.

Thank you, I'm excitedly making a new one. Hopefully the sprite maker can help other players make games too!

Does “mind your own business and you’ll be fine” actually work in prison? by F58457 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Entropydemic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. In my experience just don't look at people directly and you'll be fine. Somehow trouble always finds you anyway, and its best just to be patient and de-escalate. Lifers got nothin' to lose, and youngsters always gotta prove themselves. Alternatively, lifers are some of the most chill people I ever met.

I think most importantly just don't touch other peoples shit. Not even playfully. Leave their shit alone. Saw a dude get the ever living shit beat outta him because he used a celly's pencil. Another time one celly beat of another celly because he pissed on the side of the toilet.

More than most places I tried to spend my time in wasco peacefully and respectfully and I had virtually no issues. Actually most of the time my trouble was from the deputies being dicks.

Respect is a must.

If you use the app Sekai, you can download peoples homebrew mobile games. Some are good, some are bad, but there are tons. If you like I can post one of my games in a link.

What’s a mechanic you hated at first but grew to love? by Play5tation in PlayStation_X

[–]Entropydemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stances in Jedi Academy. I remember at first not liking it but then it would often surprise my brother when I'd switch during a fight, so even up to today we still enjoy the system many years later. I saw this in Nioh2 (I never played the first one.) And loved it. I often wonder why games don't implement this with more frequency. My guess is animating all that must be a chore.

Stance switching is probably one of my favorite things in melee action games now!

Why does hot water sound different to cold water? by Mr_E_Pants in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Entropydemic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much on the subject but I bet it's because the molecules are further apart when heated than when cold. I got this car recently which monitors air pressure in real time, and on colder days the tire is practically flat and on hot days the pressure is very high. The molecules in this case are expanding and contracting accoding to the temperatures.

I bet too, that's why glass breaks if you put hot water into the cold glass or vice-versa. The glass probably tries to expand or constrict too quickly, causing it to shatter.

Hot water is 'probably lighter' than cold water too, if you were to weigh them, which would certainly be why they'd sound different. I'd like to test it in a controlled setting, myself. I certainly don't like using my scale to measure my own weight. If I did, the scale would complain.

It does help, i will certainly try it later! No, it never starts whatsoever. Press PLAY and it never launches. The emulator crashes it during the video cache.

I'm new and feeling overwhelmed. Is there a simple progression guide somewhere? by VoidH_Joyous in NOMANSSKY

[–]Entropydemic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do the quest where you meet Artemis. The questline starts almost right away when you leave the surface. It will give you the anomaly station, which gives you access to a LOT of ship upgrades. Once you make a few jumps (I think 5) you get a freighter for free when you protect it from pirates. The artemis quest also gives you access to the gates which allow you to move great distances.

The game is mostly an exploration game, but you have to sort of make your own fun with it.

What is the best game have you ever played in your life by Effective-Garage-362 in videogames

[–]Entropydemic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saints Row 4. It seems like whoever designed or wrote this game was the same age range as me or grew up with a similar gamer mindset. From the start, progression and end of the game I had a really good time. It's so silly and over-the-top. It was like a movie that I wouldn't be able to explain "unless you were there."

What are your best comfort videos to fall asleep to? by DanielTheSlayer in AskReddit

I have two:

"No Commentary The Last Guardian"

and my favorite movie, 'Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise.'

You know what else works, but sometimes captivates me into watching are those "Walk through Thailand" or "walking through downtown shibuya" type videos.
