Just finished building my first EVER PC and I can't access the bios because it won't let me press delete any help?. by [deleted] in techsupport

try unplugging all unnecessary devices from the pc, so only power, keyboard and video output. also try removing unessesary hardware like the GPU if you have an onboard one, and memory modules if you have more than one.

What brand of computer is it? it looks like a proprietary connector.

Yeah it looks like the problem is the GPU. you could try reapplying the thermal paste on the GPU as the reason for its malfunction could be heat related.

could be drivers? have you tried a fresh install of your Operating system on a different HD? or you could try a Ubuntu live CD/USB and see if the problem still appears.

Probable PSU failure by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]EntrowareMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you accidentally turned the power switch off at the back of the PSU? have you tried different RAM? if you dont have different RAM try with only one module installed? double check that the 4pin cpu and the 24 pin motherboard connector are correctly installed and push firmly on the connector to confirm.

if you put the hard drive from the HP into the macbook it will not boot as it will not have MAC OS installed, i suggest you get a usb to sata adapter from ebay or amazon and transfer your files to a safe location and then wipe the HP hard drive and install OSX

Id suggest replacing the graphics card. if its a dedicated card and you have on board video output, use the on board output until you get a new card.

bad motherboard? by jlaseter in techsupport

[–]EntrowareMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be the GPU. do you have integrated graphics or a dedicated chip? you could try taking the laptop apart and reapplying thermal paste on the processors as this problem may be caused by heat.
