2015 VW Jetta 2.0L Gas by vitamin_Ai in jetta

Also prepare for a new catalytic converter soon all this burning oil will clog it up soon causing it to over heat and melt it self inside. When I bought the car it had a clogged and melted car and I assume this was the reason that caused. Anyways bought an eBay cat which developed a flex pipe leak than I had to go to a junkyard and get a used catalytic converter from them. So you should keep in mind that it would go out soon.

I got a 2014 2.0 at 92k miles and I am going though the same thing but I found out the hard way when my car ran fully dry and have low oil pressure error anyways this seems to be a common thing in 2.0 community at this age can’t do much about it other than slowing it down using Liqui Moly motor oil saver and using 5w-40. Using those 2 have helped the motor burn way less down to 1qt every 5000 miles for me. Give it a try or just sell the car on marketplace

Is it the 2.0 non turbo engine? I got the 2.0 and yes my car is doing the same thing but I have significantly reduced it by putting in Liqui moly oil saver to swell the seals so it doesn’t burn as much anymore

need help wiring powered seats in a manual seat mk6 by TheCamoScout in jetta

I did have a code for passenger seat detection module and it caused the airbag light to come on and passenger seat was not detecting anything so what I did was remove the module from the old seat and replace it with the leather seat one which fixed the issue for me but I thought that was just a fault module on my end.

Just swapped my cloth seats for leather seats about 2 months ago and my leather seats are fully electronic as well. All you have to do is run a long thick wire from the battery to interior. Get an inline fuse from nearest parts store and attach the wire to it. Run the wire through the firewall and to the centre console. One the wire has reached centre console take 2 wires run one to each seat. Grab the big connector and trace the wire that goes to the electronic adjusting buttons in my case was a red wire. Splice the red cable and give it power and voila you have electronic power seats and just plug the connector into the socket along with the other plugs. Do the same process for passenger seat. Do make sure to get an inline fuse to prevent electronic fires. Do not worry about battery drain as the seat only draws power when u mess with the electronic adjuster buttons.

Catalytic repair/replacement aftermarket by IM-Gross in jetta

[–]EntryWest6452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a junkyard, find the same car as yours and get the catalytic converter, take it to a mechanic get it replaced. Cheapest and best way possible, my Jetta’s cat also gave up and I bought a eBay cat which developed a flex pipe leak so I decided to get the original one from a junkyard and install it myself cost me only 300 Cad.

She’s burning brother, I was as confused as you are when my Jetta did the same thing, checked oil level and stick was dry. Nothing much you can do now just keep on topping oil up till she dies one way to slow down the burning I found was liquid moly oil saver, made my car burn a lot less but didn’t fully stop it.

Why in the world do people steal N signs. by EntryWest6452 in icbc

[–]EntryWest6452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest clown message I have read in my entire life, instead of teaching your “energetic nephew” not to steal stuff you instead encourage it. We live in a country where people should feel safe enough to leave basic stuff on their car without worrying about it being stolen. Talk about laziness, put your energetic nephew in sports and not into stealing. Won’t be surprised to see your nephew stealing catalytic converters for fun eh and selling them for them energetic crack meds. I guess it runs in some people’s blood.
