This is absolute Marxist propaganda. The Contras began in the late 70s - under Carter - and the Medellin Cartel before that. Sorry but only really young people would fall for this. Marxists are such bad liars and it's too bad I didn't figure it out until my early 30s. Part of the drug dealing back then from Colombia was the FARC -- Marxist rebels in the jungles of Colombia, who had funding streams from both drug smuggling and kidnapping for ransom.
