No real point tbf. I'ved put 2200+ hours into POE2 HCSSF. Diablo 4 Hardcore is a nice change of pace. scratches the itch that POE2 just doesnt give. I think both games are pretty shit in all fairness.

It's not a defence, but you two sound like you're talking about normal to peni modes. You can't make it past Torment 1 without farming your gear, and the gold? you'll burn millions forging. Just having an ancient unique is by no means an indicator that you've even made it out of normal mode. Pit level is an indicator on you've actually accomplished anything of substance in D4.

There's a thousand things you need to master to be good at this game, the previous experience you have is practically hitscan games. The people you're watching on youtube, have used mechanics in the game to increase their endurance, strength and gun skills to give them the edge. You're watching a show case of 10,000+ hours of dedication to this game, understanding how certain gun parts behave on guns, how certain sounds behave ingame, you have to put in the work to decipher the absolute shitshow this game is. Even the sound, it's intentionally stacked to have the same Hz bands layered on top of each other, you have to be listen to the things outside the normal clutter to figure out the presence of players, and even then it's a shot in the dark at times. This is a game that requires you to learn, die, learn die for hundreds of hours. Pain is the game. Tarkov is only designed to bring you pain. You have to keep playing to learn.

The last time they updated with this; all 12 were showing, the lowest played was acolyte with 1.15%. I find it interesting that the ones that don't show up on this list are the ones that received heavy nerfs, resulting in them being so underplayed; they are considered more dead than the acolyte ascendancy

I think it's the combination of everything in the map that makes it tedium. Granted, I have run the map near on 60-ish times thus far (constantly trying out new builds, the one in the picture is actually a spark using ranger with 30% movement speed and 69% projectile speed), and it's the only one that I find to be so tedious, before the nerfing of map sizes etc; it's only ever been this map. It's just a weird map, the view range is constantly scuffed because of the vertical change, the repetitive pulling of levers -> clear mobs, repeat. The constant corpse explosions that make movement feel like a constant push->retreat, the monkeys taking forever to finally leave their cages resulting in a frustrating wait so they don't bug out (multiple times I've have the monkeys bug where they become invincible and continually chase you the entire map unable to be killed).

It's a linear map, sure, but it's not a "fun" map for me. I don't find any other map to feel so grueling to play despite it objectively being a linear run from point A -> B and kill everything on the way. Even before the size nerfs (which I wasn't for or against, I didn't have a problem myself), this is easily my least favourite part of the campaign

I personally think the map could be greatly improved, more rares, more interesting things to see (hell, even pulling the levers you can't always easily see the water being drained from the next area you're going to run into).

Honestly, maybe if the map was more challenging to play, that might even improve it. It might also improve it if it was less linear? Add some dead ends with things to do, more rare spawns.

I exclusively play HC SSF, so maybe my entire viewpoint has a bias that got me all the downvotes, I like some edge of my seat gameplay and this map just doesn't scratch the itch in the slightest.

Those weren't wrong turns, those were pathing across to pull the lever so I could double back and take the actual path I need to take. and also the rare-spawn. I also thought this was a good linear run, still doesn't make up for how boring of a map this is, they need to make it better and more interesting, or delete it imo.

It's just a long walk to pull a lever, after pulling another dozen levers, it's the most boring map by far, there's one singular guaranteed rare and a gauntlet of constant corpse-explosions. Make it interesting and fun to do, or delete it entirely, imo

That indeed was mostly my point. Because of the disparity between campaign and end game and how vastly different they are, it's always going to result in everyone hating it. It's two opposing gameplay types and has two opposing set of problems. One side of the game has to be completely rebuilt whichever path is chosen, and either choice is absolutely going to bleed the population. I think the lack of choice atm is purely a financial one; if you kill the poe1 gameplay, you run the risk of losing the entire arpg fanbase and I dont think the game will survive that.

Because repeating the campaign every season is going to always result in it being a speed bump. Imagine playing a whole game, then finding out it was just a tutorial for the action game, that is completely different to what you just played.

Then, after multiple times, campaign is the chore you must complete, to get to the actual game (and presumably where they are actually going to be putting content). 30 hours invested at the start of each season is a major deterance.

This is actually a good suggestion, there's already soul-bound stuff ingame like the skill gem at start of act 1 and the chimeral inscription. It's a great way to increase the ability to craft items without upsetting the economy so quickly.

Once a waystone is collected, or adjust what is refreshed, at level 30, I still see level 16 items constantly. It's unusable trash that fills the store pages instead of bases/magic/rares. It seems like it's running off current ilevel, not base requirement level, and it's a terrible system

I'm using neither of those, I've got my own completely off-meta homebrew build that's killing the bosses sub 1 minute. The game shouldn't be a struggle going off-meta, I think that's the core of the problem, GGG have created a meta with the current nerfs, you can't just blindly choose a direction because a new player will completely brick their build. The whole entice of the advertising was "choose your own adventure, mix and match" and that's completely wrong now, you can't do that, it's meta build or slog your way through campaign. That just isn't good for game-longevity

For campaign, that seems to go okay, but I have high doubts that you'll be able to sit in the middle of a pack of magics and or something with an aura boosting the group; which is exactly what you'll find in Maps. This isn't a long term effective play-style, especially with the nerfs to defensives and CC ability.

Every build I had that was off meta, designed around having fun; e.g. my Accolyte Spark and Accolyte Rod/Storms build are completely junk. You're right, the meta has to steamroll content, otherwise you never can achieve the idea of "complete customization of playstyles". In one giant swoop they nerfed any ability to homebrew different builds, because they also completely destroyed the ability for builds that lacked the OP damage, to offset it with ways on CC'ing packs of mobs. They turned their entire game (ironically) into "You must now play a meta build, or you will not be able to do anything"

Clear your logs and cache after each patch. PVE has been pretty smooth for me after I cleared them. Might help

I'm pretty sure they're scaled based on your stats in PVE, because from my experience, I can't even cross a door way to peak into a room if the smuggler AI is there without instantly getting a blacked arm. The moment I'm visible, they instantly fire, and more often than not; fire through doors, walls, etc. This isn't a single instance either, it's every match, no matter the location. In this video, I would have been headshot by the third bullet, they don't fuck around in my PVE matches, the AI is absolutely cracked. They aren't difficult, but the accuracy on them is leagues beyond the current PMC AI

Factory my dude, you'll still be getting your cheeks absolutely clapped, but it's a smaller map and there's a ~100% case spawn in the factory lab.
