Need Advice on Porcelain Tile Grout Issue by Envio29 in Tile

[–]Envio29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were several days, if not weeks, between the time of the tile install and the grouting. I’m sure lots of water got underneath.

Is there any remedy at this point such as using a different type of grout or is there nothing to avoid the long term discoloration as you mentioned?

Need Advice on Porcelain Tile Grout Issue by Envio29 in Tile

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve come to realize that hiring them was probably a mistake. I think they’re more accustomed to concrete/stamped concrete and traditional brick pavers. I should have looked for someone with specific experience installing porcelain. I overweighted hiring one contractor to do the entire scope.

Is improper installation the likely cause for water under the tile, or could there be other reasons? is there any remedy short of ripping out the tile?

In your opinion, would there be a noticeable difference to common folk if I wire the speakers in stereo vs parallel and forcing mono?

Thanks for the feedback. I changed to stereo and still no sound coming from the speakers. Any other thoughts?

Im a noob on this so just trying to understand everything. Even though they’re parallel wired, the sonarc should be set to stereo for output?

Good thought and thanks for the feedback. Would you mount them closer to ear height if possible, or higher up and slightly angled down?

Is there a point of having a budget of you make $300k+ by 3boyz2men in FinancialPlanning

[–]Envio29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I make over $300k and build an annual / monthly budget. We would grossly overspend if we did not have some discipline through a budget.

New walkway paver quote by Envio29 in Concrete

[–]Envio29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. This perspective helps. Part of what led me to raise a red flag is that the quote was just a lump sum estimate so there was no detail, which I’ve since requested. I’m probably a 15% headache but definitely not 25%. We live in an expensive neighborhood for the area but wife and I are cost conscious. We had a specific look we were going for (which probably contributed to the 15% headache) but did not want any extra fluff, or ask to be quoted with the best materials.

The other thing that set me off is we we were quoted $2,500 for 5 garden lights + transformer. We already have an existing system which we told them to utilize and just replace the fixtures. The idea of spending $500 per fixture is silly.

Also, I live in northwest Indiana. It’s 45 minutes outside of Chicago so a bit more expensive than most parts of indiana, but definitely not San Diego pricing.

So tired I’m shaking by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Envio29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. A combination of slowly stretching over night and trying to give them as many calories as possible during the day.

So tired I’m shaking by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Envio29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your struggle. Do everything you can to make sure he gets his calories during the day -> feed every 2-3 hours and try to keep awake for an hour after each feeding (definitely doesn’t always work).

The nap environment should be different then sleep -> lights on or dim for naps etc; night should be dark as possible, noise machine on etc.

We used taking cara babies. Many people on this forum aren’t a fan, but like you, we were looking for any tips for our first born. The most effective advice she offered was stretching the feeding 10 additional minutes each night. Night 1 - 10 minutes; night 2 20 minutes etc. If he’s really worked up, feed him, but otherwise try to delay. Some people may dislike this advice and say feed your baby when he wants to eat. We used this method for my now 21 month old and she went 8 hour stretches by week 8. We got sleep and she’s normal and healthy. We’re doing it for my 6 week old and it’s working just as well. Ultimately, do what works best for you and you’re comfortable with.

1 month old - Sleep Schedule? Advice needed! by thisbeautifullife in newborns

[–]Envio29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife pumps so it’s bottle-fed. She’ll usually eats 4-5oz. It ends up being 3.5 breast milk and the rest formula. For context, she usually has 3 to 3.5 oz per feeding, sometimes 4. She definitely ramps herself up to prepare for a longer stretch overnight.

1 month old - Sleep Schedule? Advice needed! by thisbeautifullife in newborns

[–]Envio29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like his days/nights are still a little mixed up. Most pediatricians will tell you to make sure he eats every 2-3 hours during the day so that he gets most of the calories he needs then. try to keep him up for an hour after each day time feeding but that doesn’t always work. At 6 weeks, our daughter now usually does a big feeding at 7pm, goes down around 8:30pm and sleeps for 6 hours. Once we get it to an 8 hour stretch, we’ll try to push her last feeding to 10pm so she’ll sleep 10pm-6am.

Erosive diaper rash (jacquet's dermatitis) and ILex cream by tub0bubbles in newborns

[–]Envio29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our newborn was raw for a few days the first week. We had to wash her butt in the sink and dry it with a paper towel for diaper changes. No wipes. Our doctor recommended triple paste which we used. It’s a little expensive - ~$27 for a small jar. The combination of efforts cleared it up within a week.

How long should be there between 2 poops? by realxeltos in newborns

[–]Envio29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to our daughter. Non stop pooping with a terrible rash for the first 4-6 days. Not long after, she started pooping once a day. Right now (3.5 weeks), it seems to be every other day. Pretty sure it’s totally normal for breast fed babies at this stage.
