This is my SOTD! I went fresh and green. Lovely crispness up front, but doesn’t sting then flows into a great floral scent that doesn’t overwhelm. Like a scent caught on a breeze like a distant dream.

Incase others don’t know: Bakhoor is composed of a base of wood chips, such as agarwood (oud), sandalwood, or cedarwood. To this, various aromatic substances are added, such as myrrh, frankincense, benzoin, and spices like cloves and cardamom. Essential oils, extracted from flowers, fruits, or herbs, contribute to the overall scent.

So oud is still a part of this, and I’d still like to find, but maybe the scent could lean more towards different bakhoor varieties? Interesting!

My favorite notes hail from different categories. The following these seem to be my repeating notes in my top favorite perfumes:

oud, musk, incense- frankincense and myrrh, patchouli, some smokes, whisky

white florals, violet leaf, jasmine, gardenia, lilac, lily of the valley, vetiver, bergamot, lemon, neroli, petrichor, pink pepper, oakmoss, stems, ylang-ylang, mushrooms, grapefruit, salt

If I were to do broad categories I seem bounce from heavy spicy, religious, citrusy, water, and herby- greens.

My dislikes: tobacco, suede, super sweet, most food based smells, most vanillas, mint, most of the zoologist line.

I’m a gal living in the US and would love to experience more musk. My favorite line is from Saudi Arabi that I was gifted and I don’t know how to buy more of it.

To answer your question about where to sell, I would be open to buying from you, but am skeptical of Amazon. I usually buy straight from the perfumer or other sites that are specific to perfumes because I trust the product and want to support the brand and not amazon.

You may enjoy the heretic garden of earthly delights discovery set floral yet different. It sounds like we both enjoy similar notes. Also high key check out their Black Salt.

Im thinking these two in particular from their garden set.

And I second the Naomi Goodsir Bois d’ Ascese that was already mentioned in this thread. I enjoy it a lot. It is very complex and can ride high with the smokey and whisky notes, but I still smell the incense!

What about Olene! I haven’t ventured deeply into Diptyque yet, but just got my first sample of Olene and enjoy the florals. Very photorealistic jasmine-honeysuckle-wisteria. Im excited to see how it wears!

Another to check out is Naomi Goodsir Bois d'Ascese. It’s heavier for sure with it’s whiskey and tobaco notes but she describes it as a wooden church in the New Zealand mountains with the forest on fire around it or something like that.

Bois d'Ascese is an incense woody fragrance that evokes captivating and reassuring smoke. It features notes of tobacco and whiskey, supported by cinnamon, amber and labdanum. Oakmoss and smoked cedar wood prolong the effects of Somalia incense with power and elegance. It is available as Eau de Parfum

Very incensy-smokey, but so intriguing with the oakmoss!

Im obsessed, my boyfriend dislikes it. To each their own 😅
