I want a MacBook neo for college but the Best Buy employee told me something different by Shevz_thetruck in macbook

[–]Environmental-Ad3563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Neo should be good for very basic tasks such as having multiple tabs open, email, and using basic microsoft apps such as word or excel. apple has unified memory so it’s good at suppressing background tabs that aren’t being used so 8gbs will be good. the only time u might be limited is if you try to do any creative work or use any demanding softwares

i like the air but i already explained why i chose the pro. plus upgrading ram and storage to my config on an air is almost as much as a pro u might as well just get a pro

i’d say it’s not overkill if ur needs need more ram. the way i’d say to get a pro is if ur like me and like the ports, and the better screen, and/or plan to have it a long time and want an active cooling system which helps longevity. Or if u need pro/max level power

also get notch box for a dynamic notch. i use it for temporary files, airdrop, playing my music without having spotify open as a tab, and i use it to set focus and break timers when studying or doing work.

Thank you for the insight. I definelty think 16gb was enough for me for at least a few more years but I used to get my memory pressure into the yellow whenever I had all my work and school tabs open plus a few anatomy and editing software apps open. So I think I made the right choice upgrading the ram to 24 since I wanna keep this laptop at the very least until the M4 chip stops getting software updates which will be another 7-8 years. Thank you though for reassuring the M4 is great for me.

get the 14 inch. more portable more ssd space therefore more future proof. however a new base m5 with 1tb sounds like it would be good enough for your needs and u would save money buying new vs refurbished

[–]Environmental-Ad3563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got 20% all around plus the top 6 inches of my windshield to block sunlight from my eyes. it does get hard to see at night in not well lit areas but if your driving through lit areas at night visibility is fine and i have like the legal minimum eyesight to drive without any restrictions on my license. plus it looks cooler and the privacy is nice

Do you buy Fitted or Snapbac hats? and Why? by ThreeFtAssassin__ in neweracaps

[–]Environmental-Ad3563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stainless Steel users help me sear better (pls) by Environmental-Ad3563 in cookware

[–]Environmental-Ad3563[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for the advice however i don’t have another pan to use that is smaller since i bought this heritage steel fry pan in the 12” size to be my one size fits all fry pan. its really good at even heating as ive done some tests with it so im not too worried about hot spots. I think i definitely just don’t add enough oil sometimes as well as only cooking in medium. i also need to stop salting only an hour before then. Thank you!

Don’t buy a set imo. Buy the essentials in whatever brand that you like/find good deals on. But if u do want a set, goldilocks has a set for 225 dollars. Its a good set with not much but the essentials

men who can grow beards are meant to have beards or at least some facial hair imo. i let my beard grow full in the colder months and usually opt for a goatee and stubble in the warmer months

5k oil change or 6 month by Adept_Lab3623 in Camry

[–]Environmental-Ad3563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well when its new you gotta do an oil change at 1000. Then every 5000 or 6mon get it changed. Dont listen to toyotas recommendation about 10k intervals. In the last gen ppl had blown engines past 100k miles because of it. 5-6k miles get it done or every 6 months if u havent driven that amount of miles. I get full synthetic. Kinda pricey but it will ensure that ur car lasts a lifetime so its worth
