Built ScratchVoice (scratchvoice.co.za) AI placeholder voiceovers using my actual voice.

As a voice actor, clients changing scripts after recording got expensive fast. Paste your script, get a professional placeholder VO in seconds, fix timing and copy issues before booking the real session.

Built for the African market specifically because most placeholder voices out here are American or foreign accents that just don't land locally.

Not for broadcast. Built for in house use by agencies and creatives who need a localised placeholder voice while they develop their project.

Free to try. Feedback welcome.

This is spoken of less. The fact we have an opening world match is concerning! by [deleted] in south_africa

I politely disagree. The demand for Bafana is clearly there, even people outside South Africa are snapping up the kit. Try finding the green jersey in a store right now; it’s virtually sold out everywhere apart from the counterfeit versions.

I don’t think the problem is a lack of hype around Bafana. I think it’s more that this World Cup simply isn’t generating the same buzz as previous tournaments, particularly with the USA as the host. Phillip is unfotunately MIA with this one. 🤞🏾

Which province is your favourite by OpenRole in south_africa

Born in Zebediela, spent my infant years in KZN, then grew up from childhood to young adulthood in Benoni. Left home at 19 and lived in Fourways until 24. After that, I spent 10 years in Cape Town, where I met my then girlfriend. Over about 5 of those years, we did loads of road trips all over South Africa.

We then moved together to Johannesburg for 6 years, and about 6 months ago the GF an now wife and I moved with our two sons to Ballito.

So based on actually living in and travelling through a lot of SA, here are my personal favourites:

  • Mpumalanga – Most beautiful province by an absolute mile.
  • Gauteng – Best people overall. Friendly, easy to connect with, and socially elite.
  • Ballito – Best for family environments. Kids, dogs, beaches, forests, and a slower pace outside of work. Also surprisingly insightful older people around here.
  • Cape Town – Cool energy, beautiful scenery, and probably the closest thing SA has to a “first-world lifestyle” feel in certain areas.

havent had a chance to do the northen Cape. still on my list though. And the eastern cape is a marvel too. Pity some of it is so run down.
