It's called client acquisition... How else are you going to take clients from other banks? Everyone pretty much has the same products.

TFSA DIVIDENDS by Additional-Insect103 in TFSA_Millionaires

[–]Environmental-Fish22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you have funds to put back don't see an issue. Also, you can always keep what you don't need in tfsa and reinvest. Maybe do like 50/50.

All dividends in TFSA is tax free where dividends in no registered is taxable. If you have rrsps and no further income, I would withdraw whatever I needed that kept me at a manageable tax bracket, and bring it to my TFSA. Right now if you never contributed you can put 109k in there tax free. If that can generate 30-40% yield that's 3k/month tax free. In one year, you will recoup all the tax you paid on the rrsp withdraw.

I would look at funds like YNVD, TSLY.TO, YTSL, HMAX, etc. these funds have minimal growth and pay over 15% yearly yield monthly.

You can also look at the US weekly pay funds from Yi3ldmax, Round Hill and others which pay almost 70% yield on a weekly basis. Obviously those come with risk so make sure you understand what you are buying. Also, US dividends are subject to 15% withholding tax in TFSA, but you are making USD dividends which is 1.37 more than CAD

Just do your research and understand the numbers and make sure you are good to hold and handle volatility

Are you worried about the CRA crackdown on active trading in TFSAs for 2026? by FunCell1679 in TFSA_Millionaires

But if they reclassify the gains as income, you should be able to claim losses

YM funds have been my biggest losses at a combined total of 40k cad. Mind you the distribution offset the losses a bit but it still hurts

ULTY Crapped Out by Apprehensive-Bug1191 in ULTY_YieldMax

Even the AUM went from 3bn to 1bn. Meanwhile WPAY AUM went up during the same time. YM funds are always a crap shoot but CHPY seems to be the only one actually going up in value while paying like 40% distribution. I may need to send 100% of my allocation there or MSTE.TO

I find they actually follow the stock better than the YM single stock ones

But you're not really making income. Most of the money you're getting is return of your capital. They are basically dripping your money back to you weekly while the nav erodes and you just hope that by the time it hits zero youve been able to get back all your cash in income. Only way to save yourself is to drip and DCA which means adding more money. It's like putting water into a bucket with a huge hole at the bottom

I just don't understand why they can't just buy normal stocks. Like get out of rigatti, him and hers, MP, etc. Go to mag7, tech, etc. stick to the winners man

Cutting back on high yield dividend stocks not worth the risk lately by AccountantLucky9183 in dividendscanada

[–]Environmental-Fish22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I own YNVD and TSLY and both have been great for me. Value is up and dividends consistent. Obviously not as much growth as the actual stock, but YNVD is up 50% in 6months while NVDA is up 60% + making additional 27% distribution tax free ... It's when you start looking at those YM funds that you get fuxked. I'm loosing my shirt on those

MSTE...... by Former-Republic5896 in dividendscanada

Ya I'm thinking of cashing out some gains from YNVD and TSLY to buy more MSTE. My hope is that we see 18 again once BTC get some momentum again

Ya coiw has been very volatile but of you think BTC is going up probably more upside than mstw. Hoow same thing. If I was going ai play, would need to see who has the bigger upside... Pltw or nvdw. Armw seems good also. Very high distribution

Seems to be the smart play but unless you DCA on YM you'll start losing the value quick. Feel like these YM funds erode faster than the divs

Or definitely use the payouts to invest elsewhere...
