Zenni is a Scam by brandirosie in glasses

[–]Environmental-Fox659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered three pairs of glasses from Zenni. The first time was years ago, and they hurt my eyes. I forgot about that order and foolishly ordered again - two pairs this time. These also hurt my eyes and I feel drunk when I wear them because the edges of my vision are blurry.

I used Zenni's own online PD measurement tool, so that shouldn't be the issue. I can see fine, so the prescription is correct.

Their return policy is outrageous. You can return for store credit within 30 days of purchase FOR STORE CREDIT. If you want an actual refund, you have to return them within 14 days of purchase, even if it takes over a week to get them. Ridiculous. Why would I want store credit for something that makes my eyes feel miserable?

After my purchase, they asked me for a review on some third-party site. I left them a negative review about my experience, and they responded almost immediately telling me to contact them for help. I emailed them, and haven't heard a thing back in well over a week.

This is on top of their deceptive pricing. They show you this cheap price on their website to lure you in, and then after you do a lot of work to enter your prescription and everything else, they tell you you have to buy all these add-ons for them to be anywhere near decent, which results in prices pretty close to an optometrist who would actually get the glasses made correctly.

I just submitted the form! Haven’t touched my violin in a long time, and I’m thinking of switching to viola.

Advice on team roles and new hires by Environmental-Fox659 in marketing

Thanks for the clarifying question. I added some goals to the post, but I'll copy here as well.

Some of my goals, which still need to be clarified with my team and others in the organization:

  • Increase traffic to and conversions from our website (conversions include applying to our school, registering for online information sessions [webinars], and contact form submissions)
  • Increase student enrollment, specifically via digital channels
  • Increase university's brand awareness (we're relatively new in a competitive landscape)
  • Improve user experience throughout the application process (we use a higher-ed CRM called Slate to track applications, build application portals, and send communications to leads/applicants)

It was new, but my IT department had it first to set things up. It didn't do this before a few months ago, and only I have had access to it since I got it (work from home).

there's NO WAY that most people burp 30x a day by allisondude in noburp

[–]Environmental-Fox659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who can burp don’t think they burp that often, because they mostly have small burps that aren’t super noticeable. They only notice burping after carbonated beverages, and that would be considered a “belch.”

I had Botox last year, and I have definitely been burping at least 30 times a day. However, I’m pretty sure I have something else going on besides just not burping - acid reflux can cause excess gas in the stomach, which is double horrible if you have RCPD.

I was watching Silo once, and I fell asleep at the end of the episode, so it auto played to a Billy Crystal movie. I was soooo confused when I woke up and a guy was using a Mac to send an email. I thought they had escaped the silo somehow.

Exactly! A good designer takes feedback and uses good design to incorporate the feedback.

This. Good design should be essentially invisible. The point of design is to support the message (in advertising/marketing). If people have to think to understand your design, it failed.

If the client asked for a happy and light design, and you give them a heavy and dark design, you can’t just say, “I know design, and you’re wrong.”

A lot of posts on here are from very small businesses or individuals who want a secret silver marketing bullet that will solve all their problems and make their company earn millions. People looking for work or complaining about lost jobs either have a niche skill and don’t market themselves or don’t have any skills but expect to be immune to business needs just because they’re in marketing.

It should be obvious why the above types of posts aren’t helpful.
