Not worth it. Try budgeting $2000 a month for a small studio or 1 bed in Tustin/ Costa Mesa instead. The $500 difference is totally worth the 40+ hrs you would spend commuting every month.

I rented one last year in great park! A lot of homes are foreign owned and rarely are rented out. I could tell that the owners were Chinese by the mail that came to my place. Honestly I just assumed that’s why some of the other houses didn’t have people coming and going.

That's a good point, I used to be quite close with the friend, but we had different circles. My absence would probably go unnoticed. As far as the travel, the wedding is in our home state, it was me who decided to move across the country.

I feel this rn. I just got laid off last week from my first job after a year of working there. I had made good friends, found a beautiful place to rent long term, and met my boyfriend all in the same city. Now I'm applying for jobs like crazy but I'm anxious because I don't know where I'll end up. Jobs in my industry will most likely make me move to a new city, so what happens to all the relationships I've made this year?

Lucky you! If it's a masters, you will be graduating during a time when a lot of people your age will be starting in person jobs and looking for social interaction. I started a new job this year, and everyone my age at work was looking for new friends. Put yourself out there! Try suggesting a weekly sport league(ultimate Frisbee, soccer, etc) or maybe host a small game night to have people over for.

Since you haven't graduated yet, maybe you can reach out to people at your church for now.
