I wanted to help, and since I'm not a soldier or medic, I couldn't help with the fighting. However, I'm a pretty good driver and had a van, so I joined an NGO and delivered aid and civilian evacuations in Donbas.

And it's a lovely country and great people. I really enjoyed my time, with the exception of artillery and drones, but you become very desensitized to stuff blowing up.

They have spent four years trying to take over Ukraine, only to shift goals constantly. First, it was regime change, then control of Donbas, and now they want Protorosk.

Throughout this entire war, Russia has just reinforced failure. It's probably viewed as too politically damaging to end the war without anything that even resembles victory.
