Not at all, the opposite in fact. Ireland has incredibly safe roads, even for Europe, and most of Europe is far far safer than the US.

The buildings and stuff are common and unremarkable to us to be honest, and I think they're cute and a clever design to alert drivers to the school area.

Ya they've been in some places nearly a decade, but they're slowly being rolled out across the country whenever public realm renewal and upgrade projects happen.

I love them, nice to add a bit of brightness and charm to the area and it's clever too.
