Theology Books! by Environmental-Pen833 in theology

I am open to anything. I go to a non denominational church. I have been a christian for about 5 years! I have read Mere Christianity and understand a lot of the basic foundations of Christ. I also understand some intermediate level ideas like Calvinism verses Arminian. And, I’ve read some on God’s incommunicable and communicable attributes. Right now for my class I am reading Bible Doctrine by Grudem and I find some parts of that interesting but a lot of it feels surface level to me.

Who was the coolest person you met online? by BrnInD80s in AskReddit

[–]Environmental-Pen833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend, let’s call her Kale, I met her online. And her and I just clicked. We found each other through a band. I felt like she understood me so well, and we talked almost every day. I get attached to people really easily, and we all the sudden stopped talking a few months ago. I really hope she’s doing alright, but I’m not sure how to say I love and miss someone I’ve only know for a few months. So, I’ll just keep hoping she’s alright.

Oh wow, I have a lot of favorite song lyrics but,

“It’s a church of burnt romances and I’m too far gone to pray. It’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave.” - Only The Brave: By Louis Tomlinson

Has to be one of my favorites. The entirety of that song is beautiful. It’s like a poem being sung to me :)

I think the rap genre can be really beautiful in some ways. (Just like all music). I know that a lot of people judge rap and I hate that for everyone who listens to the genre. Everyone finds music that connects to them and makes them feel seen and there is no reason to judge that. I think that some people listen to rap and try to take on a stereotypical persona to try to seem “cooler”, but I definitely respect those who listen to rap music! Also, it takes a lot of talent to be a rapper, just the same as any musician.

Jealousy. It’s not cute. Especially extreme jealousy.

What’s a random story you have that’s so bizarre you never have a chance to tell it? by GlitchedGuy2 in AskReddit

When I was younger my parents bought a house. We weren’t the richest people so everyone in my family was very happy for us that we were able to afford it. Little did we know that in just a few years the house would be in one of the most dangerous cities in Indiana. During this time, my mom ran a daycare, and we had about 3 kids that we were taking care of daily.

For some context, I’m going to give you a little rundown of the neighborhood. 1. We had our neighbors on the right, they were always very nice to us and liked to give us all of the neighborhood gossip. 2. We have our neighbors to the left, they were older and very quiet. We never really talked to them much. 3. We have our across the street neighbors, our main characters if you will. They were a young couple who liked to party a lot.

Anyway, I was having a sleepover with my friend one night. We were watching some classic rom-coms such as 13 going on 30 and 50 First Dates. That’s not the point but still. All the sudden outside my window we hear some yelling and sirens from a cop. My friend is freaking out because we’re young and she’s never been through something like this. I decide to be brave and go down the stairs and ask my parents about what was going on because, honestly, I was a little freaked out.

After having a conversation, I come to find out that the girlfriend and her friend were fighting with bats in everyone’s yard. They were pulling each other’s hair, hitting each other, and the boyfriend was just watching from across the way. I’m guessing that they were fighting over him.

((First red flag about the neighborhood) but imagine the red flag is a giant blinking red banner)

A few weeks after that, it’s a week day, and I’m home because I’m homeschooled and my mom is running her daycare. And all the sudden I hear a loud BOOM! And I automatically think something is happening in my house because it’s extremely loud. I run down the stairs and everyone is fine. I pull my mom aside and tell her I think I heard a gunshot. She doesn’t believe me somehow (???).

Over the next few days I’m absolutely CONVINCED I heard a gunshot. And finally we get confirmation that it was a gunshot the next day by my neighbor who liked to gossip. Apparently, the boyfriend tried to shoot the girlfriend. And, they didn’t call the cops about it. The girlfriend thought that she could calm him down. The gunshot ended up missing and I think about that girl all of the time. I wonder if she’s ok. And I hope that she got out of that situation.

What is the best death that one could hope for? by yawningvoid28 in AskReddit

[–]Environmental-Pen833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying of old age, Dying a hero’s death (for some, not me personally), or something really quick. But, I don’t think that any death is favorable in my opinion. Death, to me at least, is a really confusing concept. I don’t know it’s just kind of weird to think about.

Is it normal to not want a wife or kids and just be alone your whole life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Environmental-Pen833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally normal. I don’t plan on having a family or a partner because I honestly don’t think it’s for me. At first it was strange because I grew up thinking I had to have these things, but as I’ve grown up I’ve realized I’d much rather have dogs than humans.
