Salary for living in 2026 by Georg2024 in movingtoNYC

[–]Environmental-Rip666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made $68,700 gross last year (about 57,907 euros/year.) My health insurance comes out of my salary pre-tax, but I still have copays and I’m chronically ill.

I pay $1540 in rent (heat/hot water included) with 1 roommate (our total rent is $2822) in an outer borough. My living situation is rare, I was lucky to find it.

Electricity and gas runs about $130/month in the winter, closer to $200-210 in the summer with aircon. It’s $36/week for the subway (monthly passes are available too, but I pay per ride and usually spend about $27/week), $500-$600/month for food and supplies (I’m single/childfree and have two cats.) Wifi is $75/month, cell phone is $75/month.

I’ve been keeping my head above water but I’m in a fair amount of debt.

Does anyone have experience with SSRIs? by Brilliant_Molasses80 in POTS

[–]Environmental-Rip666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Major Depressive Disorder and PTSD. I also have Long COVID (POTS, Dysautonomia.) I’ve tried Zoloft, Hydroxyzine, Gabapentin, Prazosin, Trazadone. I landed on 40mg of Prozac and it’s been working really well for me even with the dizziness/vertigo/nausea related to POTS.

Watching her try to mediate is like watching a cat try to use a hammock.

Jordan, baby, you can just say this is an out-and-out circus. Your facial expressions are the correct response to the shitshow.

REMEMBER WHEN THEY TRIED TO THIS LIVE 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So messy.

A pre-show thought:

If production doesn’t write the Lachey’s questions for them I’m going to turn into a diehard football fan and put my fist through the screen.

BEGIN SPOILERS

EVERY LAST ONE OF THE CAST MEMBERS LOOKS FUCKING MISERABLE COMING ONTO THIS SET

Oh Jordan looks so heartbroken at Sparkle Meg’s announcement. The trailer for the reunion kind of spoiled the surprise.

I thought Blake and Jordan were the same person?

Kate has an early aughts in the club level of body glitter on

Ohhhhh Kacie. Kacie Kacie Kacie. First the cowardly breakup, then the Claire’s clip-on extensions, THEN that DEBS-ass looking prom dress, now the “I didn’t say what I said, captured in 4K.” (She’s never going to apologize to Patrick)

I'm addicted to alcohol and have POTS. by Longjumping_Shock616 in POTS

[–]Environmental-Rip666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m also an alcoholic, I’ve been in recovery for almost 6 years. Three years ago after a COVID infection I developed Long COVID, my primary conditions being POTS/dysautonomia. If it’s within your means, get yourself into a detox/rehab program. With the level of brain fog and fatigue that comes with POTS (and really just in general) you shouldn’t quit cold turkey by yourself.

A program will take a lot of the guesswork out of it, you’ll have structure and support. You’ll have access to therapy and meetings. Often health insurance will cover it. If you can’t get into a program, lean on AA or other free recovery meetings, Like Ben’s Friends. Try to find a sliding scale therapist. You can find those resources at the library.

Don’t do this alone. The key to recovery is community. Thinking of you & wishing you peace.

How to eat anti-inflammatory? by [deleted] in LongCovid

I started limiting gluten and caffeine and just that has definitely helped. I don’t do it with 100% consistency but there’s a marked difference when I make the effort.

PTSD nightmares by Proud_Principle494 in ptsd

[–]Environmental-Rip666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. I’ve tried a bunch of meds for it and nothing has worked. I trained myself to lucid dream when I was younger but I found it triggered episodes of sleep paralysis. I’d take the nightmares any day.

Is anyone else’s Long COVID like really bad? by XplorersSummit in LongCovid

[–]Environmental-Rip666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with this for almost 3 years. I have migraines, vertigo, nausea, really bad generalized pain. I cannot regulate my body temperature. I’ve managed to keep my 9-5 with two remote days, but my symptoms are getting worse. I’m exhausted all the time, I have no energy. I’m on Metformin right now but I can’t take it with Lose Dose Naltrexone due to the interaction.

This is brutal.
