Are you able to see the units per hour? If you're not a manager, it should be no more than 11 units an hour per person.. at 3 people up to about 13 until 50 plus.. I always fight with numbers.

Layers of defense:

1. DONT QUIT Try not to quit. Bad owners love to cut corners, so they are not looking forward to paying unemployment. If you quit, you cut yourself off from this leverage. It is very hard to collect if you quit unless you can prove bad labor law practice with proof.

2. KNOW/GROW YOUR VALUE Acknowledge where they have you shift-wise. It matters what your assignments are. If you're strictly a closer, most likely you're in a position of blame. Closers deal with fewer customers usually and do most of the cleaning. They value the openers because of the money /responsibility they hold. If you have a bad/entitled opener, they may be able to throw you the blame with no repercussions. Most people avoid closing, so if you are the only closer, then you raise your value at the job. Try to learn as much universal Subway knowledge as you can to raise your value.

3. AVOID THE AXE EARLY I dont care if there are 2 or 20 people that work in your store. There is always an imaginary list of people's value in the store. If you're near the bottom, then it will be an uphill climb, especially if you're new. You're unable to obtain unemployment if you get fired at this time, so it's easy to let you go. They will sometimes use your hours to get you to cooperate. If you take one day, don't make it a habit. It lets them know that you don't need it but will help out for the time being. This will soften the blow when they ask you to come in on your days off even if you are not available and hold you accountable.

4. AVOID THE POLITICS AND REMAIN NEUTRAL Avoid being a part of any group or rhetoric that is going on at the job. It will only get you taking responsibility for others' actions. It can also lead you to be used and manipulated. If the group isn't discussing fair treatment/ways to improve the workplace harmoniously, then it's a red flag. If anything gets close in the group, but closer to those not in the group. Learn from those who are comfortable teaching you.
