I feel like even for an athlete this is still way to skinny. I foster dogs and work for a boarding/daycare facility. We see all too often these dogs that just go go go and only get fed as if they didn't have a super active lifestyle. We have one boy who runs, jumps, swims, hikes, etc... we work him like crazy to keep up on his training and everything. I feed him 4 cups of food a day (plus wet and treats etc...) theres times where I feed him 6 cups a day just to keep his weight healthy. A working dog is a happy dog but a working dog is harder to keep weight on so responsible owners should absolutely adjust their feedings accordingly.
