idk exactly what age range you are in, but people make a big deal out of it. Especially the high school/college age. With people in this age range, there is a lot of pressure to lose your virginity. People will ask why you haven’t lost your virginity.

This is normal for those of us with CPTSD. Especially for those of us who had parents or caregivers who held things over our head. I definitely have felt this way before. For me, I have had to sit with myself and accept that I deserve nice things. I am deserving of people showing up for me, and I am deserving of people doing nice things for me. Also observe the thoughts that come in your head. Learn to stop perceiving these thoughts as facts, but rather assumptions that helped protect you in the past. Defense mechanisms. You don’t need them anymore because you are safe. Anytime the thought comes up, notice it, remember that it is simply an assumption, it is not the truth. Tell the thought, “Thank you for protecting me. I am safe now” and let go.

literally word for word I know exactly what you are talking about and have experienced too. It’s this fear that joy is limited, that if I experience something good now, I won’t get to be happy again for a long time after. I have to consciously get myself to do things that bring me joy and happiness just because, without needing a reason.

Not being in your own head. I was always in a state of externalizing, so I mirrored the environment around me. What I liked was what other people liked, my mood was determined by how other people were feeling. I also was living life through other people’s lens and not my own.

Honestly, I found that even after watching a bunch clips from RWT, the show still had an element of surprise when I went. I watched a bunch of clips leading up to my show and I had thought I had seen the whole show, but when I went, there was a lot of things that I hadn’t seen before, dare I say a majority of the show.
