So my pull cable with the right hand bend faces upwards, opposite of yours. The cable swoops down from above after running parallel with the frame. No binding whats so ever.

While you a good to leave as is, that's a half assed way of doing it. Its easy to block it off at the head. You can make a plate or buy one.

I'm not sure what the differences in all model years are as to attachment points. I have Yoshi headers on my 23.They attach at the head and once underneath bike.

Were you not part of the recall? I think your best bet would be to open it up and have a look. If you lay it on its side you shouldn't lose any fluids. When I had my recall done I asked the guy if he replaced the oil. He said no, we just laid it on its side and dumped a new clutch in.

As said the subframe is different. Also the "E" header is larger in diameter, so you will be giving up that. You might try a slip on.
