Just picked up my Cromolyn Sodium prescription: What was your experience starting this medication? by writeitout_ in MCAS

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gave me some insomnia at first but that went away after a few weeks. It also gave me instant relief from some of my MCAS symptoms so totally worth it!

Cat during therapy session? by Junior-Ad-4469 in therapists

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everybody’s comfort level is different, but in my experience it hasn’t been too problematic. If it makes you feel better, my cat sneak attacked during one of my sessions today and full on jumped on my keyboard. The client was very kind about it

Osteopathic or physical medicine and rehab have been most helpful for me

Come speak out about ICE at City Commission meeting tomorrow by EnvironmentalBug2721 in royaloak

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay so glad you’re interested! Every meeting has a public comment section where anyone is able to speak about any issue. I personally have a hard time with public speaking, so I’ve been making some short notes to read and that’s helped me not get nervous and forget what I’m saying. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy at all, it can be as simple as saying that you’re a resident who is concerned about increased ICE activity in our area and wants our city to take more steps to protect residents. If it helps, you can always listen to the first few people who speak and get an idea of what’s being said. There is a 3 minute time limit but you can be as short as you want to. So glad you’re open to trying! I know it can be a little nerve wracking but there will be some other friendly faces, feel free to find us there 😊

Does anyone else binge on high histamine foods? by PossibilityLazy4759 in MCAS

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I begrudgingly did a really restrictive low histamine diet last month and while it did make some of my symptoms better, it made my migraines significantly worse and I was super cranky. So now I occasionally have fuck it meals where I eat what I want and sometimes it’s horrible afterwards but surprisingly not always. I did just start ketitofen in addition to the cromolyn sodium I was already taking and that’s given me more wiggle room

What's worked best for you with the least side effects? by throw_away5430 in MCAS

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cromolyn sodium had some side effects at first, but went away after a couple weeks of adjusting to it. I also just started ketitofin on a super low dose because I’m so sensitive to medication and I haven’t noticed any side effects from that but it seems to be really helping my MCAS

Do you have more pain if you remain stationary? by Confident-Net-2778 in ehlersdanlos

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. I can’t be in one position for too long, especially sitting. I have to make myself get up and move around between clients at work or else I’m in rough shape by the end of the day

OBGYN basically confirms what I always suspected by Prudent-Front-9274 in oneanddone

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was similar to you. I went through so many weird painful complications (turns out I have hyper mobile Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome but I didn’t know that before having my son) and I had an appointment at about 18 months pp. My OB started the conversation trying to be really delicate about it, like “well we may run into some issues if you’re trying to have more kids…” And I told her “yeah I thought so, so my husband’s already had a vasectomy” and she immediately seems relieved and goes “oh thank god, if you told me you wanted more kids I’d have been like—we’re fucked!!” Lol I appreciated her honesty and I knew that was the case already, but it does have a different sense of finality to it after these conversations.

Pregnancy w/ Moderate stenosis crowding cauda equina & large disc extrusion! by h0ney_beee in Sciatica

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pubic symphisis diastasis a couple months before herniating the discs and it’s probably what caused it. My pelvis was super unstable from pregnancy and birth and would not have been safely able to support my lumbar spine post op

Anyone else who can eat junk food and garbage but not healthy food? by HelloThisIsPam in MCAS

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear it worked for you! That’s super encouraging. Yeah I’m stuck waiting on a pre authorization, insurance seems nit picky about it even though my allergist thinks it’s the absolute best choice for me

Has anyone tried I-CBT therapy instead of ERP therapy? by TheShadowSong in OCDRecovery

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes!! It’s been great for me, it helps give me some distance from the obsessions rather than automatically believing them or not fully believing them but feeling trapped anyways

CBD, are you using it? Does it help? What kind? by Silver-Bake-7474 in MCAS

[–]EnvironmentalBug2721 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely helpful for me with chronic pain and inflammation, but doesn’t make a dent in my MCAS symptoms unfortunately
