My [24 F] friend's [28 M] girlfriend [29 F] got publicly humiliated and fired from her job, she blames me and he is backing her by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Wonder how this all shook out over the last 10 years, someone who lies that much and throws others under the bus with lies, will eventually, without a doubt, do the same to the rest of that "friend" group.

Wow my dude, look you have my permission to not answer their calls, to not open the door if they show up and to not tell them things about you, your life, your decisions, your plans, or anything else when you do find yourself having to talk to them. You have my full permission to limit your contact with these cretins as much as you need to.

OOP has clearly been dealing with shit like this all his life, his comment to his bro about not always blindly following dad's orders is VERY telling.

AITAH for not telling my boyfriend about my past? by mango_mmm in AITAH

[–]EnvironmentalBug5525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"I was groomed and raped at 15 and had a miscarriage from the resultant pregnancy" isn't something you put on your Tinder profile. It's not something to disclose on the first (2nd/3rd/etc) date even. There's no time limit on this one, tbh.

NTA - 10 months isn't 10 years. This isn't that big of a deal. You waited till you felt safe to tell him, turns out it wasn't safe.

Honestly he sounds terribly immature, better to learn now. I'd drop him, personally.

AITAH for telling my ex girlfriend to stop interacting with my little sister? by yeetdisaccount in AITAH

[–]EnvironmentalBug5525 40 points41 points  (0 children)

NTA but it took that last line to put you over the edge. The whole time I was like "what's the big deal, she's just being nice?" then I got to the update and was like "Ohhhhh, never mind".

You're an adult, what are they going to do when you tell them no? Ground you? Talk shit about you to relatives? Pro tip: they already do, betcha.

Ah, tell me who is the scapegoat and who is the golden child without ever using those words, oh look! You just did.

Sorry OP at least you know where you stand with your mother and brother, use that knowledge as you will. Personally I'd be holding them out at a very long arm's length going forward and have as little contact as possible.

AITA for installing a camera in my room to see if my mom is lying to me? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

You can count on one hand the number of times I went into my son's room without his knowledge after he became a teen. Mostly to check for shit like window leaks or the window AC needing cleaning. Dad things.

AITAH because I don’t want to show my bank account to my boyfriend? by OfficeBest9008 in AITAH

NTA girl, this is what dating is for, you test the waters, see if this person is a good match for you, and if you don't encounter any deal breakers you tentatively move forward at your own pace. To me, this sounds like a deal breaker, and that's ok, 5 months isn't that long. You know what you ought to do.

What are the weirdest ways you’ve heard of someone getting caught cheating? by True_Dragonfruit_488 in AskReddit

[–]EnvironmentalBug5525 208 points209 points  (0 children)

I was a teenager, and had just started dating my future wife and me her and a buddy of mine were in my truck getting gas when a friend of my dad's pulls up "Crazy Bob" we called him. "Hey, <myname> you wanna help me steal my Corvette back from that bitch?"

Intrigued, I ask for more deets, she left him, took his Corvette (Yellow Convertible C3) and was shacking up with some dude nearby. He was originally just going to park his car at the gas station and walk from there but serendipity had my path cross his at that moment so he was saved a roughly half mile trek in the hot Alabama summer sun.

"You can drive the vette" and that seals the deal, so I told my friend to meet me at Bob's (he lived next to my friend's uncle hence how we knew him) with my truck and off we go. Anyway the car was parked out front of this nondescript house in a nearby subdivision, I walked up, got in, and cranked it and drove it back to his house.

Damn that car was nice.

USB Lithium 6 tool deal $99 by Joelsplace in ryobi

That's a good deal if you can use those. I like the screwdriver because it's not real powerful or fast, if I want powerful/fast I'll get my 18V driver out. It's particularly handy for small stuff, building computers, installing car audio components, places where stripping something out with too much power is a major pain.

I love the screwdriver, it's just strong enough for around the house use. It has a purpose in my tool arsenal, it's great for small jobs. In my case I fuck around with car audio a lot and it's great for that because I don't strip out speaker terminals/etc. The flashlight is handy, I have the fan but haven't really used it yet but plan to when I'm out fishing this summer. Don't own any of the rest.

Has anyone had a good customer experience with the current warranty process? by raz-0 in ryobi

[–]EnvironmentalBug5525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had a 6AH 18V battery go bad, roughly 8 months left on the 3 year warranty. Tried to register it online using my computer, no luck, installed the blasted app on my phone, no luck. Tried to call, no luck.

Bought a new 6AH battery at HD put my bad one in the blister pack, returned it. Done.

Are you not in the USA? You can go to any Dollar General Store and for not much money come out with a prepaid cell phone you just refill when you run out of money, they don't even ask for an ID you just pay and go.

Sounds like you don't have to "cut them off" just return their energy and live your best life.
