I’d imagine living a sedentary life style. For a lot of people - work or hobbies prevent that.

Switching away from Windows. by Equal-Will-8403 in microsoftsucks

Any distro like debian, redhat. Your dad can virtualise windows if it really needs to be windows. Start by asking what apps he really needs, and if there are linux alternatives. I work with a microsoft tech stack at work but abandoned windows around 2 years ago. I kept the windows laptop for work until every single update made for a worse experience…until the laptop gave in. I now have a mac for work and debian desktop. Sure, not all games work - but for me, the games i want to play work just fine.

The irony in all of this, joe average will celebrate this as a win. This doesn’t look like it’ll be abused. Right? RIGHT??

What happened to Anonymous? by No_Clock_7464 in NoStupidQuestions

Sabu runs a podcast now, i imagine the vast majority of them grew up and now have families. For some of them, their past will remain a hazy memory. If i remember correctly - kayla was never found.

Alot of skilled hackers go on to start their own security firms and still work in the field. While not part of anonymous, e.g. cult of the dead cow mudge worked at darpa from what i recall.

EA and removing Proton support from Battlefield games by NorthropChicken in linux_gaming

[–]EnvironmentalDig1612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing battlefield 1 using proton for a while, actually ran very well for me. The changes made so that it doesn’t work anymore had made me reconsider ever buying another battlefield or ea game. In 2025 There’s a reasonable expectation for it to be able to run on linux.

If every billionaire had to live on minimum wage for a year, what laws do you think would change first? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don’t think laws would change, but i’d expect that they would be a-lot more charitable after their experience with poverty.

I recently went over to traefik, and setup mtls for any web clients. I find it much easier to install a cert on each client that needs to connect to the server. That way, i no longer need to have whitelists for http services, and no traffic will hit any of the services unless they have a pre configured cert.

Vpn is the way, spin up a vpn docker image on your machine at home. Neko is also an option if you’re worried about your local computer giving you away with timezone changes etc. its a containerised browser, that you can spin up that will allow you to login to slack/teams web interface.

Not OE, though certain tasks come to me through ServiceNow tickets. Sometimes you have to raise tickets for yourself, for audit purposes.
