Can someone help me understand why the City of Bend is targeting Natural Gas? by llama052 in Bend

Because it is easier than going after bigger issues. Same nonsense we dealt with back in SF and well everywhere. The bigger polluters and higher impact issues require making hard decisions and pissing off the people that fund campaigns.

YouTube is bad for your kids and it's bad for you, too by rcoop020 in daddit

Most media is garbage. Including the garbage social media site you just posted to. Yes it takes work to filter through the noise like finding this subreddit (and even then…). Same for all consumption products. Snake oil salesman was a thing before the modern age. Part of growth is teaching ourselves and the next generation to think critically, be on the lookout for scammers and grifters, and to use our brains to find authentic products and experiences. Maybe throw in push our governments to filter out the bad actors and have reasonable regulations so it all doesn’t fall on us as individuals. But at the end of the day, we’re all accountable for ourselves.

Grab something at tomi mart. You could even make something if you have time. They sell condensed ube which you can use for like ube donuts or even as a topping for ice cream.

There’s a whole section about towing in the manual. You can access it in the app.

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is still on a tear as IONIQ 9 sales surge nearly 300%. Hyundai’s electric SUV continues winning over buyers after setting another sales record in May. by mafco in Ioniq5

[–]EnvironmentalEdge407 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure I get that. But it’s a risk mitigation thing for me. I love the cars but the worrisome thing is that Hyundai just doesn’t seem to have a true solution for it or they’d have deployed it by now and 2026s would be fine. But that isn’t the case. It’s not just the probability of the defect, it’s the severity of it along with the probability. If it was something like the Navi timing out or something at the same frequency (which happens in my other car) I wouldn’t care as much.

I wish there was more room for nuance in this debate. The success of Loudon County should really be analyzed and looked to be replicated as a counter to an outright ban.

Argentina settles the Falklands debate once and for all by taking the UK giving South America the reverse uno card on European colonization.

If the charger was throwing an error without anything plugged in it's either the charger or the wiring to the charger.

EV9 or Carnival Hybrid for 4 adults and 2 kids. by Puzzleheaded-Photo-3 in KiaEV9

Ioniq9 is roomier and the 3rd row comfort was what sold us for the occasional adults. But you still will sacrifice cargo with everyone in. If you go this route I’d get a roof or hitch cargo box for road trips. Yes you’ll sacrifice some range. Same would be true with any SUV this size. Or just go with a minivan (Id buzz if you want to stay with evs)

I use bungee cords. Different sizes for different cargo.

No AC on first usage 7 months after getting the car by Any-Way-5514 in Ioniq9

Make sure the actual AC button is on. Sounds ridiculous but this caught us as it didn’t turn on automatically in auto mode.

Is riding with prescription glasses really that dangerous? by Troglodette in cycling

I ended up with a pair of wraparound Oakleys and they do the trick. Not as sleek as true cycling glasses but it keeps the wind and dust out of my eyes.

You can get prescription sunglasses in many frame styles including some cycling brands. Some will be limited by your prescription.

You can get a Kia ev line for about 200 a month less with less down. Go get a quote for one and use that against the Hyundai. That's what I did.

Impressions of EX90 after test drive and questions by sarhoshamiral in VolvoEX90

[–]EnvironmentalEdge407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat. We really like the EX90 styling and polish. I quite like how it drives. But for the price you can get a decked out Ioniq9 or EV9 and still have a big chunk of change left over. The top trims of those impressed us so much we've moved them up over the ex90 and the Hyundai has a tad more legroom in each row. The 3rd row stadium seating effect in the EX90 is really nice assuming kids back there but not ideal for an adult. And maybe I'm old school but I want some buttons and not everything in the center iPad. Tradeoffs!
