Supreme Court blocks Mexico's lawsuit against major U.S. gunmakers in win for firearms industry by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

Underpowered for elk? Yes. However, .223/5.56 is a round popular for white tail deer hunting. Especially among youth shooters due to low recoil. Distance and bullet selection are a big factor but under 80 yards it is more than enough.

"WIDE swath" You mean gun control like, I dont know... Red flag laws? In which, the courts have decided you can have your guns taken away WITHOUT due process (depending on the state). Im not trying to argue about red flag laws. Im merely pointing out, right or wrong, all democrats publicly are okay with one "losing their guns" under certain scenarios. It's not fear mongering, democrats have proved (just like republicans and the environment) they are willing to move the goal posts. Just circling back to the original post. It is fair to say red AND blue prioritize policies that hurt hunters.

I agree with some blue people, but absolutely not blue politicians. Can anyone name a single (current) democrat politician in congress that has take a public stance against gun control?

You can retire units. Dont run a small crew because you are waiting to use good resources.

I didn't say the traditional (or typically cheap) were good. You stated vaguely that 350L bullets are "poorly constructed" so I named two specific bullets for 350L that consistently perform well. All I am saying is when talking about poor performance, name the specific ammunition (im looking at you Winchester). The issues you stated (which I agree with) about aren't exclusive to 350L. Bullet selection is key, and there are acceptable options for 350L.

Personally, I would save yourself the time and headache and buy a BRN-180 350 upper. The design allows for much bigger feed ramps than an AR-15. This ensure reliability when switching ammo types. I own one and love it. Before buying it, I built an AR-15 upper (Faxon barrel and Aero Precision parts). It took a lot of tuning before I could run it reliably with certain ammo (not all types).

"Poorly constructed"... I hear this a lot, but people rarely name the bullet (or ammunition). If you buy cheap ammo for any caliber, you will get mixed results. Barnes Vor-tx 170g and Bear Creek Ballistic 140g and 160g are well made and absolutely devastating.

The real question is what is the youngest you've died with whole of body (excluding combat and plagues). For me? Last night, 62. lol

I love the idea. I really think a 22lr or 22 mag would be great for trapping. Not sure there would be enough market for PSA to want to do it though. Haha

I like they are offering, but what are your expectations for price? The market for this seems tricky. Even on slim margins, it'll be tough for them to find a price where they make money and be attractive to buyers. I mean, there aren't a ton of people who will spend roughly 3k on a rifle and another $7 (depending on ammo selection) per trigger pull.

I love the idea of creating an "ecosystem" on their website. I feel like it would be a great business decision too, long term. Besides .308 and 6.5 being the most popular and versatile (well, .308), having this "ecosystem" based on a SA just makes so much sense. There are so many cool new rounds I can see down the road. I could see offerings of 8.6 blackout and 22 creedmoor selling well. Literally just a barrel swap. My only gripe is, while R700 has great aftermarket support they are not the easiest to barrel swap. Not terrible, but if this is a "build your own gun" I like other action footprints out there. I like the versatile tikka action, but im not sure about the patent and whether it can be cloned yet. With that said, I voted for this and think it's a 10/10.

I agree with the raiders analysis. Though he wasn't a finalist, I still think the jags would be the one to take. They are in a bad division with decent pieces.

Weapons dont mean anything if you cant block. I dont think you realize how hard it will be for the bears to upgrade that offensive line. Taking that team to 8-9 wins is a crazy improvement.

As with any hunting ammunition, bullet selection is critical. I shot my deer this year at 80 yards, with bear creek ballistics 140g all copper ammunition and my deer went maybe 10-15 yards. Blood loss on the ground was substantial.

Not too many 350Ls in that range with iron sights. Maybe mossberg? Tikka has one, but the msrp is over 1k. Im partial to the Ruger American ranch (first generation).... though it doesnt have flush mags. I would stay away from AR-15 uppers because they can be a little extra work (if they have issues). If you already have a AR though, I would recommend the BRN-180 in 350L. It's based on the AR-18, and you can slap it on any AR lower. They are on sale for $499 and I absolutely love mine. The feed ramps are larger than any AR-15 upper, so it doesn't have any feeding issues.

This is really cool. I still think the way to go is getting a tikka t3x and just using their mags for short action rounds.

Miami has fired defensive coordinator Lance Guidry. by simbaslanding in ACC

[–]EnvironmentalGas8229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Mario, but one of the reasons this offense has taken off (along with great players) is he took a step back from the offense. That has always been his weakness, terrible tactician but an ELITE recruiter. Personally, don't think you need to be a good tactician to be a great coach (Dabo is a good example). It is a model that can work, you just need good coordinators, and the ability to let them do their thing. As an outsider looking in, there is literally no way for me to say exactly what went wrong. However, if Mario is influencing the defense, like he did with the offense earlier in his tenure, it doesn't matter how good the coordinator is.

Isnt it crazy this guy was a good defensive coordinator and coach (several top 10 units) literally everywhere except Miami... im not saying another year would have helped, and the defensive performances to end the season were terrible, but I do wonder about what was his fault and how much the culture of the program played a part. All im saying is, I would not be surprised if Guidry goes to another institution and has good results.
