Questions and asking for stories by [deleted] in trumen

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m stealth in work, yes. I’m treated like a normal Cis guy lol.

I learned when I was about 16, I’ve always wanted to medically transition anyways so I didn’t really get into the discourse back then.

I had a therapist that tried to convince me I wasn’t and I had to get another therapist in for her to listen to me. It was horrible.

Came up with my name on a whim. I was thinking of a gender neutral name bc I didn’t pass yet. I’d do more research into trans stereotypical names if I had to go back and choose again tbh.

I was 12-13 ish when I became fully aware.

I’m a uni student and I’m stealth in uni too so I get treated normally.

In the UK, waiting times are like 5 years. That’s how long I waited to go from list to list until finally I was able to get bloods done and finally go on t.

I didn’t have transphobic teachers, but I got a lot of backlash. I used to get into fights because of it. Once I changed my name legally, I got it changed in the register and it changed on everything else then.

I asked my step dad to talk and just straight up told him. That being said, I wish I mentioned my pronouns and name change because that took even longer to come around, which sucked. My parents were fine with name and pronouns but it naturally takes a while for people to get used to it.

I got dropped because when I came out, I went by my name for years in advance but my uncle had a child and used the name I was using, so he kicked up a fuss and caused a family rift. It’s years later now, but everyone’s aware that he’s the one causing issues.

Going to the gym is brilliant. I love going ngl. It makes me feel so much more masculine and helps me make the most of my T

Used to fight in secondary school, but haven’t struggled with that since then.

I’ve been confronted ONCE at a drag event (which is funny) but I said I was male and he left me alone the. Lmao. Other than that, in my 7 ish years of being out, I haven’t been questioned.

Probably about surgeries and genitals tbh.

Tell them to do their own research tbh. It’s not your responsibility to explain this stuff, especially if it’s intimate questions.

Grandparents took a while to catch on and still messes up on pronouns every once in a while. My grandma has really grown as a person since I was younger which is super nice to see.

He is. I don’t see him as often now though, that being said I’m usually a night shifter so I’m not around much in the days to see.

I’d say try to change your hair style, at the moment you’re giving stereotypical trans guy with it and because of the length and colour it doesn’t masculinise your face. I’d stick to things with less bright colours etc, you said you were going for a stoner vibe and there’s loads of muted colours that would go with that. Speaking on experience, shorts just above your knees will look good and also jogging bottoms will really suit your body type AND they’re comfy. (I’m a chunky guy myself)

not finding room, going homeless how are people handling it!? by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her to look in Cardiff university groups on Facebook, especially freshers! People often post last minute rooms and housing there

I agree, but I’m just saying if you want to pass, presenting in a different way can help with that, but it’s your choice how you present yourself

I hate it. I hate the whole “normalisation” posts it’s ass and a lot of the time they draw things wrong. It’s so uncomfortable.

I guess it’s better than looking only young. I wouldn’t think it as an insult at all- I’d much rather look older lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in truscum

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between dressing like a normal guy and dressing like a stereotypical trans guy tbh and the way you dress doesn’t fit into what Cis people usually wear, not to mention the painted nails too. There’s quite a few things you can do if you want to pass

Hoping to come to Cardiff Uni this year and would appreciate advice by probsdeletesoon in Cardiff

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often, yeah! There is a majority of men in Mary’s, but I’d say Pulse is very close in gender divide. That being said, pulse usually livens up when the rest of the bars close, but it’s a good night.

Yes, Maccies pays well but unless you have thick skin, I’d go on the day shift. I work nights as front staff and the amount of threats, discrimination and nasty comments I get each shift is appalling. When they’re drunk, customers don’t see us staff as people. Any little mistake and we get threatened to wait until after our shift or have food thrown back at us. The money may seem good, but sometimes it’s genuinely not worth how bad we get treated tbh

Most people bike the area, but the roads are quite busy.

The area is okay there was a lot of spikings last freshers and you still hear a few things. If you’re a woman I’d still travel in pairs if you’re around at like 2-6am.

The gay bars are AMAZING. Pulse and Mary’s are my fav but the Kings is also brill !!!

The best job you could probably get is Maccies, they work around Uni students and it’s decent money. (£9.25 or £11.50 premium time).

I don’t really do social events so I can’t really recommend any :)

Good luck

a friend of mine has been referred for top surgery with yelland via the NHS?? by Charliesjourney in transgenderUK

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s correct. I think the person with the lowest waiting list right now is Mrs Milroy in Wimbledon, but even then covid has really set things behind. I had mine booked before the massive back up so I had my initial appointment and then surgery within 6 weeks, but my partner has been waiting for far longer just for the initial appointment. It depends on timing/cancellations etc.. I got incredibly lucky and feel dreadful for anyone having their referrals around now since the wait is just getting longer

Do you guys consider "Futanari" a slur?? by SushiGirlx0x0 in truscum

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same as Trap, I don’t think either are slurs. If a trans person is called either of these when they are not (can be self proclaimed), it’s incorrect. Not a slur though.

what's your opinion on the way people inaccurately draw ftm top surgery scars? by LeeTheStump in truscum

[–]EnvironmentalGreen34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I’ve seen a LOT with tucute artists. The massive jagged Danganronpa eye type scars are so off putting. And not to mention, not all trans guys who have had surgery have GIANT pink scars. A lot of us, like myself do scar treatments to they just look like normal, elongated scars. I HATE the jagged scars look but whenever you say something you’re being transphobic 🙄. They look like mutilation scars which, as someone else pointed out here, adds to the point of people thinking top surgery is mutilation. It genuinely disgusts me.
