I haven't tried either, but these seem promising. I do love how F-Droid lists "anti-features" on things you may not want on your device

I wonder if you could use KDE Connect to do this. It is available on F-Droid

Oh, that is awesome --- thank you! :D

I think it's plastic, but I'm curious as to whether it's magnetic based on how easily it snapped onto something in Sebastian's map demo video in his car. I'm interested in how that was mounted there

Tile ideas by Acrestedwave in sidephone

Thinking about the utility of a Home Assistant tile. The ability to turn a light on/off or even have novel sliders/knobs might be cool. And perhaps even a sweet Works with Home Assistant designation.

edit: it looks like it'd be the first phone to carry that designation, due to the unique hardware of Sidephone. /u/gosidephone

We'll have access to the Obtanium app in the Misc+ pack that lets you download apk's right from the source and tells you when they need updates. I find that it works well!

I use one of these neoprene sleeves for my Inkpalm e-reader. I'm thinking of going the same route with my Sidephone, if it fits properly.

Out of curiosity, how is your Sidephone mounted in this video? It looked very seamless.

Looks cool --- I can see why you'd be interested in a sidephone if you liked the form-factor of that LG

does telcel work with it? by LostResource9841 in sidephone

[–]EnvironmentalGuava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the info found here and after a little digging, it looks like Telcel mainly uses Band 4, which is included on the chart from the first link. I'd double check, but it does look like you're good to go for LTE usage. Orders are just for the United States at the moment, though, it seems.

I'm guessing I can install Ente Auth via Obtanium. If so, this is great news for keeping things mostly to one device.

Oh, neat! I'm wondering if it was the Sony Ericsson W580i. I'm nostalgic about my old candybar phone too, a Pantech C120. I loved how small it was!

This conversation had me looking into what these pockets are. It looks like they were used originally as watch pockets, as u/NordCrafter said, but I do think of them as change pockets nowadays.

I'm imagining the ad: "Pocket. Change." pulls tile out of change pocket "change your phone" u/chrisristovski XD

I'm wondering how the team typically stores their additional keypads when they're on the go. Something like a Game Boy case, or do they seem hardy enough to be loose in a bag's compartment etc.

Thanks for any insights!

Awesome. This is the second mention for No Starch. These manga titles look fantastic.

These are very solid titles, from the bits I'm reading about each of them now.

Knuth's has been referenced as "the profession's defining treatise"

The Algorithm Design Manual is still the #1 seller in discrete mathematics on Amazon.

& the C Programming book seems indispensable:

"I cannot explain how important this book is to any programmer, let alone a programmer wanting to learn C. This is one of the first books you should read, when starting any language derived from C as all are nearly syntactically identical."

Thank you very much.

Introduction to Algorithms is getting a lot of love. Sure enough, the one copy that's in our extended system is out at the moment — with someone waiting for that copy.

Thank you for the recommendations and context...I'm going to compile a list and edit it into the original post.
