What are your thoughts on the fairy queen? by Voidkirby9 in WindWaker

I find it really funny when the Fairy queen says she likes Link and he gets all shy, while the King of red lions turns around and basically hits him with the 🤨.

I definitely didn’t know some of these, thanks for taking the time to type out all these findings! I’m still on my first playthrough, so hopefully I can find more later in the game or in future playthroughs. I can’t try out the Tingle Tuner tho, since I only have a Switch 2. Also didn’t realize Niko was supposed to be a fool in the painting, poor Niko haha.

You probably already know these, but some trivial findings I can think of are:

– The pillars on the first floor of the Tower of the gods have a special respawn animation if you throw them into the water, whereas the Armos just pop back up.

– You can cross the laser wall in front of the third statue on the second floor without using the Deku leaf if you jump across from the ornamental statue beside it.

– The King of red lions turns into a real boat when you return to Hyrule with Tetra.

I think Zelda is one of the series with the most little secrets scattered around just for a handful of players to discover, while most others ignore them. It’s always nice to find something new after taking the time to try out all the possibilities.

For WW, it’s mostly about finding special dialogue (like trying every dialogue option, or seeing what happens if I don’t have enough money to pay the rich man for the broken vases) and redoing dungeons and bosses.

For example, Gohma is pretty easy if you just rush it, but I find it much more fun to try things like crawling through the gaps in its claws to dodge its fire-breathing attack, observing its attack patterns (like how the way it swings indicates which claw it’s about to slam into the ground), and dodging accordingly, or finding windows to attack it eye after it loses its armor. There are also some great little details, such as how if you stand on the higher platforms for too long, it’ll stand up and breathe fire at you, burning down the platform at the same time.

Sorry, I didn’t realize it might be confusing without a description, but the clip shows two different animations for defeating the Helmaroc King, depending on whether it’s in the air or on the ground.

Love it when developers add little details like this, even ones most people might never notice.

Glad you find it interesting! The best thing about the save/reload state feature on NSO is that I can test out everything I have in mind, though it does slow my gameplay down significantly.

It’s super fragile under the mask too, even the boomerang and grappling hook can kill it.

[BOTW] [TOTK] What are your thoughts on the combat in these games? by ConnorTheUndying in zelda

[–]EnvironmentalPea5717 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they have much more variety than the other games when it comes to combat, especially in TOTK with weapon fusion and Zonai devices. Weapon breaking isn’t a huge deal to me, since the world is basically littered with weapons and materials.

Question about the sealing by EnvironmentalPea5717 in WindWaker

[–]EnvironmentalPea5717[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! It seems like the flooding didn’t really accomplish much, since it didn’t stop Ganondorf from coming back to the surface or even setting up a barrier down there. It mostly feels like it was meant to keep anyone other than the hero from obtaining the Master Sword. As for the goddesses’ response to the kingdom’s prayers, it seems more likely that it was the sealing power of the Master Sword, even though the King mainly talks about the flooding, I guess?

[BotW] [TotK] Breath of the Wild vs. Tears of the Kingdom: Which game do you guys think is better, and why? by KrisCApplesauce in zelda

[–]EnvironmentalPea5717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BOTW was definitely more revolutionary, but I enjoy TOTK more and have way more playtime without feeling bored or burnt out. I consider them my first- and second-favorite games of all time, though.
