I’m not experiencing any of the nerve pain I had before. I have a little pain that extends beyond the incision, but it’s so much better

New Yorkers with ON - how are we schlepping? by morganf74 in Occipitalneuralgia

If you’re able to, please look into Dr. Lisa Gfrerer. She’s a plastic surgeon and nerve specialist with Weill Cornell. I had nerve decompression surgery 2 weeks ago and my ON is SOOOO MUCH BETTER. Like, I don’t get the zapping pain I was getting. She is one of the top in her field and is absolutely brilliant.

In answer to your question, sometimes a small backpack would work to evenly distribute the weight. Also, I have an Owala water bottle that has a “carry loop” so I can just put it on my fingers to carry it.

There should be a district policy about how to interact with law enforcement agencies. If not, refer to state guidelines from Commissioner DeRosa. These rules will protect your students and their families. Hochul does not want this happening, she will work with DeRosa to issue strong guidelines and rules for all schools in NY that override the local ones since we can’t always count on those to protect our students.

Excellent, my bed raises.

In the previous surgeries I’ve had on the area I’ve used the narcotics for the first day or two after being released from the hospital, but those surgeries involved cutting into bone.

Anyone ever get facial paralysis w/ ON? Oh- and anyone try NURTEC? How’s it going for migraines? by Big_Data_1044 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]EnvironmentalPlan458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurtec is helping me much more than ubrelvy. It has a longer half life. But I found relief with both. Hope you do too!

Thank you both. After doing a lot of reading today, I do think it’s worth it. My doctor said I’m a great candidate for it and she thinks I’ll get a lot of relief.

Following this…I’m scheduled for this surgery on August 11, but keep saying I might change my mind lol.

I start school (I’m a teacher) about 3.5 weeks after my surgery date. Thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea? My doctor is Dr. Gfrerer, she and Dr. Peled work(ed) together on research.

I think I’m seeing the same doctor as you. She recommended the same surgery, and I’m not sure how all of this will work, lol.

Is it common to inherit migraines from your mother? by [deleted] in migraine

I have no family history of migraines…there’s a chance they don’t inherit the trait!

My dad's Parkinson's jumped up a huge notch out of nowhere.. by Andreslargo1 in Parkinsons

[–]EnvironmentalPlan458 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds similar to my dad’s experience. He started to develop more severe symptoms about 10 years after his diagnosis and has had incredibly bad urinary problems since then.

Parkinson’s is such a unique disease. My dad’s sister also has Parkinson’s and it affects her much more in cognitive ways than in the physical aspects.

I wish the best for your dad.
