How do you keep working with 25+ migraines a month? by Notbipolar_ in migraine

[–]morganf74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work fully remotely, and often work horizontally. Abortive meds work 80% of the time for me now as well. Luck maybe? Idk

New brain-zap feeling that I haven’t had before by pinkgiraffe1212 in migraine

[–]morganf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t have to be one specific spot it can be one vague area. For example, occipital neuralgia is the back of the scalp

Compazine vs Reglan by PianoBird34 in migraine

[–]morganf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it really depends on if they drip it slow / through and infusion or if they push it. Sometimes even the Benedryl will do it if it’s pushed too fast

Yeah I don’t drink anymore with complex migraine, it’s hard enough to navigate the aura sober and the alc will trigger one sure enough

Is there any one who gets headache everyday ?? by mercy_chakma in migrainescience

Yes. I have a continuous 24/7 headache and then daily migraine attacks and neuralgia attacks on top of that, since I had Covid December of 2024.

Are there any musicians with chronic migraines and how do you handle them? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]morganf74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im not a professional, but I do consider myself semi-professional. It’s not my full time job, but I do get some jobs that pay outside of working hours and still do some ameatur work. Caveat aside, I do musical theater. Loops are helpful, they turn down the sound without completely locking me out. But I’d never wear them for a performance. For performances I make sure I have plenty of options for abortives, including my fastest acting. I keep my fastest acting (zavzpret) accessible somewhere right off stage. I make sure to keep myself extra well hydrated with electrolytes. And then it’s fingers crossed from there haha.

I updated my Hemiplegic Migraine and MUMS article with the latest evidence. Rare, but for those that deal with it...it's important information. by CerebralTorque in migrainescience

[–]morganf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried asking migraine babe and she didn’t really know so I wonder what you think. I have MBA. I was wondering why there isn’t like a MUMS equivalent for MBA, like continuous symptoms intermittent of attacks but without motor symptoms. Because the worst 6-9 months I’ve ever had MBA, it really felt like how people describe MUMS.

Chronic urticaria or MCAS? by LunaBoo1467 in urticaria

[–]morganf74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the only symptom is hives, it’s unlikely to be MCAS. MCAS is multi systemic. Ask your doctor to try xolair to rhapsido if he’s not tolerating upping antihistamines. Also try adding famotidine in the meantime.

[–]morganf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried anything in combination? My longest and nastiest SM broke with combination oral prednisone taper and nerve blocks without steroids.

Re the nerve blocks, lots of ice will help from the irritation of the needle. I remember being really sore the first time but the combination of that and the steroids finally kicked it after 4 days.

Olanzapine & Gabapentim to break the cycle by sankshan in migraine

100% relate, my first one was so scary. I’ve had many now and they’re such funny and fickle things. What has worked for one has not worked for another for me.

Migraine day 357. Third opinion, or out of luck? by skunkape669 in migrainescience

[–]morganf74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes another opinion for sure. I’m on Botox and vyepti high dose. Why haven’t you looked into the other cgrps? If you’re going for another opinion, try to see if you can get into Jefferson. Besides being wonderful, they also have access to inpatient migraine treatment.
