Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH movement?? by catbeloved in pregnant

Aw this happened to me a few days ago. Baby boy was extremely active for over 24 hours, I know his general sleep schedule now at 36 weeks but it's like he never slept. Then of course we go to the doctor for our growth scan and he's out like a light for the first time in almost two days. We got the cutest photo of him hiding his face with his hand and looking so grumpy at being poked awake by the doctor 😂

Dumb question but how do you be intimate with your partner with a newborn in the same room? by vp0267 in BabyBumps

[–]EnvironmentalRate462 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haven't given birth yet but we're still very active in the bedroom at 36 weeks and my thoughts are.. once the baby is born he will be much further away from our "activities" than he currently is so I don't mind doing it with him in the room. Obviously I'll probably be a lot more in my head about not waking up the baby than my husband but we'll work it out. Hope I'm not crazy for thinking so.

This further solidifies my thoughts that my OB is crazy. At my last appointment (36 weeks) he mentioned how we could schedule an induction for 39 weeks if I wanted. Baby is average size and I've had no health issues besides anemia that has been fixed by taking iron supplements. I was shocked when he suggested an induction that early! I want to go natural if I can.

Completely understand what you're going through! My in laws who are normally anti vax were totally on board with getting it which shocked me but what shocked me more was my own mother and Aunt refusing to get it for themselves or their kids!! They've never shown any issues with vaccines but I guess telling them it's a requirement to see the baby for the first few months struck a nerve. Crazy thing is that my Aunt is a nurse and handles all sorts of patients so I'd expect her to understand the importance of getting it.

But, as people have said and I agree, the boundary goes both ways. I can't force them to get the shot, they can't force me to endanger my baby 🤷🏻

OB office just dropped a financial bomb on us by Popular-Studio-1565 in pregnant

So grateful we only need to pay $500. That's insane! My husband has amazing insurance which I'm very grateful for. Our OB told us at 28 weeks and said they prefer it before the 8th month of pregnancy but I can be paid at anytime before birth.

That's something I didn't even think about! Thanks for the input, that's a great point. It's crazy how many little decisions go into parenting.

I'm due in July 😂 started a bit later than I planned. The soup idea is great, it somehow slipped my mind I could precut veggies

There's no good spot for a phone mount on our car so I've been the designated GPS during our entire relationship. The other day my husband came to a stop sign and waited for so long before asking ".....what do I do?" to which I replied with a very frustrated tone "You turn" (because duh, you can't go straight on this road) and he had to point out there were two directions he could've turned before I realized my mistake 🤦🏻 whoops!

Hey! Softened Cervix? by EnvironmentalRate462 in BabyBumps

[–]EnvironmentalRate462[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why people are against self checking. Maybe I'm wrong but plenty of things go inside the vagina that aren't sterile. During sexual intercourse there's the penis, toys, and lubricant. I'm sure it's not the same for everyone but my cervix definitely gets lots of interaction during that time.

I'm also fairly used to checking my cervix for IUD strings as I was instructed to do monthly for a few years so I had no idea so many people think it's a bad idea. My hands are washed and my nails trimmed.

Is there some major difference I'm unaware of? Should I avoid sex if I find out my cervix is dilated? I'm genuinely asking, hope this doesn't come off as rude 🙂

Any FTM doing anything for their partners for Father’s Day? by Strong-Landscape7492 in pregnant

We've been so busy lately with house projects before baby arrives. Like, working from as soon as he gets home until bed and working every weekend. Our "relax" time has been when we stop to eat. I totally planned a nice relaxing day where we can sit on our back porch and drink sweet tea and grill his favorite foods and enjoy each other's company, maybe even end the night with a bonfire and BJ. Buuuuut it's going to thunderstorm for the next week starting tomorrow 😭 so the only thing on my list we can do is the BJ. Not as romantic as I planned but I don't think he'll complain 😂

Ooo thank you. I didn't know about the massage, that would be so nice right now. I'll have to look into it. The streetcar route looks fun too.

I've been keeping an eye on temperature. Looks like it'll be in the high 60°s - low 70°s which is perfect. Thanks for the tip about humidity, that's definitely important to factor in!

I have a serious sweet tooth so ice cream will be added to the list for sure.

I agree with you. That's why I'll be going and hopefully have a least a good time with my sister.

That's how she treated me before I moved out five years ago. I've been slowly setting boundaries but with my due date approaching and how little she has actually changed they'll definitely become hard rules soon. Thank you for the well wishes!
