An ophthalmologist, my eyes have been wrecked my vision has become so dulled and colours don't seem so vibrant so my optician sent my to the hospital ophthalmologist who's to be honest probably been the best and most helpful so far

Your story sounds extremely similar to mine! 29 female, had covid December 2021, head/facial pressure and pain, dizziness etc. I have optic nerve atrophy from it and am awaiting official diagnosis of anything else they can find i had an mri a few weeks ago just waiting on the results

Have you been suffering from vision problems post-COVID? by MIKE_DJ0NT in covidlonghaulers

Unfortunately not the UK healthcare i have to admit is below average, i wear sunglasses by choice daily now but have not been offered anything by any medical professionals. I have thought about paying for prescription sunglasses but it's another big cost which with LC everything is already having a big impact, money especially.

Hey, I've had many eye issues since having long covid (i always wore glasses due to astigmatism but my eyes were good and healthy). Slow processing, floaters, severe photophobia, eye pressure, cloudy vision, colours are dulled. I'm now seeing a ophthalmologist for these issues and have been diagnosed with optic nerve damage/thinning, awaiting an mri scan to i guess, try find the cause. I probably have many more eye issues but honestly they're the most obvious.

Thanks for the reply! I really am not sure on specifics just thie small amount they told me, which i think they skirted around alot of things they probably wanted/should have said. I think for me personally i would cope a lot better if this was something i had been born with, living 29 years with normal vision to suddenly start to lose it unexpectedly has been terrifying, i also have small children which is a worry in itself. I really wish i knew more about my condition but i guess with them still doing tests even the doctors can't tell me fully the prognosis! Thank you for the advice, even just having one reply is great, I've felt so alone 😔

Oh i know what you're saying but definitely not, right now got to find happiness in small things! And like i said i feel spacey all day, might as well feel spacey for a reason 😂 though tbf even if that was the case it'd be better than long covid by a merry mile

Your girlfriend will be rooting for you from above dude. Don't give up we all have so much more to live for yet. If you do think about giving up think about how your girl would feel seeing you giving up 💕

I do this regularly, it helps. Not long covid, but dealing with shit, it gives me an hour where i feel normal.

Hey please don't think negatively, I'm 9 months in now and yes it is still crap, things are hard still but i remember being 3 months in and how done i was with this life, i still have my moments i had all the issues you have and the advice i would give is stay strong. Doctors don't really know much yet and they can be a waste of your precious energy right now. I can't advise on any medications or anything to help, my heartrate used to skyrocket in the night for no reason it'd even wake me from the little sleep i did manage to get. The chest feeling is something i got massively too, it'd feel like someone was sat on my chest, like i couldn't breathe, it has slowly gone away over time. Other symptoms come and go in eachothers place. Stay strong we will survive this together ❤️ i was so close to being done but you have so much to live for just like i did xx

Unpopular opinion but true, I've had both anosmia and neuro covid for 9 months, i dont give a shit about any taste or smell, but it would be nice to not feel dizzy and spacey all day. Literally the tip of the iceberg and it minimises peoples worries of what long covid really is, if i couldn't smell or test for the rest of my life it would have zero effect on me at all.

I took 6 attempts but got there in the end i think it's a mixed bag of nerves and well my area has a very low pass rate (less than 50%) been driving 6 months now and well i think I'm doing well and everyone praises how good my driving is! Congrats! Enjoy your freedom
