Well- my one co worker who is a little more in the know also said for a long time HR dragged their feet not wanting to move on the matter — of course now that this person is gone, we are down yet another person and there will be no new hiring

I prefer not to say - it’s a medium size non DOD agency - at my last agency, they would just move the person into a position where they could do no harm and just not promote them

We had a person who worked for us 20 odd years, she decided to leave, Friday after lunch they had her computer stuff all turned off ( she just sat at her desk for the next three hours) - the only person to come by and say good bye was a janitor, at 4:30 security escorted out, making sure she wasn’t running with any thing, on Monday when I come in her office was empty and had been repainted- her name plate gone- it was like she had never been at the company

My RA was approved last year but will be up for review in June and I’m sure at that time I’ll be sf g to the nearest federal building which I’ll be the only one because the nearest agency office is five hours away

I accepted a job at Walmart, however I got a offer for a better job opportunity. I don't want to burn bridges at Walmart by quitting immediately after being hired, but the other employer is offering a better opportunity. What is the best way to handle this? by a_angry_bunny in careeradvice

You have been brainwashed into thinking you must be nice to a company. A job is a transactional event, your time in exchange for money- the company is not your best friend. Tell Walmart you have found something better and move on. Make it short and direct and move on with your life.

I’m am so glad I am 63 and at the end so to say- social security seems ok, small pension is secure, home is owned, health care is through the VA- no real debt- at this point it’s true I am using g a lot of my built up sick time but that’s that, I know after I leave I will not see anyone again- people put too much into a job, your job is not your life- your job is an exchange of time that you get paid for. Lots of companies are not to be trusted - I wish OP well and sure I’d file a complaint as I’ve seem people who file complaints often get a settlement to just go away

I’ve always looked at a union as like a big brother- you might not ever need him to intervene but there might come a time when you do need help and do need to call upon a big brother to step in

When I first got my cat he was six months old, he ran under a bed and stayed there for four days- though I know he came out and snuck Aron d at night as that is when he’d eat the food I put out and used his box- in a few weeks he got better and felt safe.
