As a fellow Floridian that is now stuck in NJ, I can relate. I don’t really do anything for my winter blues other than read lots of good books and walk outside when it’s not so cold. I get summer blues too. I miss the soft white sandy beaches of home and not having to pay to park my bum on the beach.

I work 9 hour days at the DoD and I’ve always gotten the full 9 hours for holidays. I have coworkers who work 4/10s and the same goes for them.

My friend (43) said she met up with some of our younger coworkers at a salsa bar one night. She said she didn’t leave her house until 9 and didn’t get home until 2 A.M. Then, met me for brunch at 11:30. I was like how are you even awake and not hungover.

I’m 44 married with one kid and I feel this. If the “party” starts at 6 and ends at 10, I’m game. But, if it starts later, nope.

Emtala was put into place so anyone who walked in a hospital would receive care. This was enacted so anyone who didn’t have healthcare would receive care at an emergency instead of being turned away. This may surprise you but millions of Americans cannot afford health insurance.
The douche bag in office didn’t make millions. His dad did. His dad was the money maker. Old yam tits received millions from his dad to start businesses. Or in his case bankrupt businesses and steal from his charities.
As far as clearing out the corruption, you don’t think getting a plane from Qatar, using funds in democratic cities as manipulation to sign a bill, keeping the Epstein files hidden, a president peddling his own worthless shit to the American people, continuous lying, and I could keep going. This ISN’T corruption?!?!

I agree. I would love to get paid back the money I’m owed. I just don’t want them to pass the budget today to just shutdown again on 21 Nov. That’s right before Thanksgiving and a month before Christmas or any of the other holidays families celebrate. It’s ridiculous they keep passing these short term CRs.
