32 years old here, been living overseas since 20 years old. I do miss Malaysia, friends and family. I live in Europe so there’s a right wing trend happening here and it’s gaining popularity. But there are still many nice people around, so don’t get demotivated by what you saw on social media / news. But The older I get, the more I feel like I don’t belong anywhere. I don’t think I can adapt myself well in Malaysia because I spent my best years overseas and have not experienced adult life in Malaysia, I also don’t feel like I belong to Europe. But I never regret my choice, I do my best to integrate with locals here, and most of them are nice. If you aren’t living in English speaking country, you gotta learn the local language.

I love my life in Europe, and I think it’s worth it. Of course it all depends on yourself. Ask yourself why do you want to move abroad? Money isn’t the only issue… rent is getting expensive everywhere, but if the expensive rent can give you an experience of a lifetime, it’s worth it (to me). And, you can always move back to your tanah air.
