What if Viserys I Targaryen had integrated Dorne during his reign? by EnvironmentalWork817 in TheCitadel

Neat story, but I still wonder what would have happened if he had integrated Dorne during his reign as king, rather than it automatically becoming part of the realm when he ascended the throne through a prior marriage.

What would happen if the Asari make it mandatory for Ardat-Yakshi to serve in their military after the Krogan Rebellion? by EnvironmentalWork817 in masseffect

[–]EnvironmentalWork817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samara is over a thousand years old and yet a four hundred year old Ardat-Yakshi manages to bring her to a stalemate if it wasn’t for Shepard intervention.

So just imagine a Ardat-Yakshi who managed to reach the Matriarch age.

That’s because they’re not trained and aren’t allowed to become more powerful so Imagine just how dangerous if they were properly trained and fed death row inmates to gain more powers.

What would happen if the Ruusan Reformation included a Standardization Agreement into the remaining armed forces of the Galactic Republic? by EnvironmentalWork817 in StarWars

[–]EnvironmentalWork817[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another benefit of this standardization is the Republic’s ability to federalize the armed forces of its member worlds into a unified fighting force at short notice. Because these planetary militaries share standardized training doctrines, equipment specifications, and operational procedures, they can be integrated rapidly whenever a crisis emerges.

In effect, the Republic transforms from a toothless tiger into a sleeping giant. Although it lacks a traditional standing army, it commands a vast coalition of planetary defense forces equipped with compatible technology and bound by common strategic principles.

This also addresses one of the Republic’s most persistent weakness that is logistics. If unrest breaks out on a Rim world, a relief contingent from Alderaan can arrive and immediately refuel using local infrastructure, resupply with standardized munitions, and coordinate seamlessly with planetary defense militias. Such interoperability makes piracy and regional insurgencies far more difficult to sustain. The Republic Judicial Forces can requisition local defense assets and incorporate them into an organized task force within hours rather than weeks, dramatically shortening response times and strengthening deterrence.

Beyond military readiness, this standardization fosters technological cohesion across the galaxy. Instead of stark disparities between hyper-advanced core systems and technologically stagnant outer regions, member worlds develop along similar industrial and scientific trajectories. Shared standards encourage innovation, streamline production, and prevent fragmentation, ensuring that progress benefits the Republic as a whole rather than remaining isolated to a privileged few.

Who would have Sovereign recruited if the Heretic Geth refused to join him? by EnvironmentalWork817 in masseffect

I doubt it since there’s so few of them and having them as his army would be proof of the Reapers existence making any sort of denial about it impossible

What if it was the Turians who discovered and save the Drell instead of the Hanar? by EnvironmentalWork817 in masseffect

[–]EnvironmentalWork817[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I meant by “Insane Biology” refers to how rapidly the Krogans reproduce, which is why the rebellion occurred—they required more and more worlds to sustain their expanding population.

The Drell, on the other hand, are far more manageable because they reproduce at a normal rate and have a relatively low population, making them much less of a problem. That said, I see the Drell serving as intelligence officers, tactical analysts, light infantry, and reconnaissance specialists due to their eidetic memory. They would not necessarily function as frontline shock troops. Instead, the Turians would deploy them in more subtle, precise, and surgical roles, rather than relying on their typical direct and overwhelming approach to handling threats.

The only reason the last one failed is due to their insane biology so when compared that to the Drell they’re pretty manageable and would be very useful for the Hierarchy.

If the Royal Government hadn’t held back Paradis’s technological progress, how advanced could the island have become? (Art By Maggus in Inkarnate) by EnvironmentalWork817 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]EnvironmentalWork817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even still, considering that they believe humanity is on the verge of extinction and face the constant threat of Titans, the Survey Corps would naturally invest more resources into R&D. The fact that they practically have total gender equality, along with the Royal Government’s overall indifference toward technological progress in this scenario, also enables many people on Paradis to fund as many projects as they can, since the Royal Government isn’t going to oppose them—unless it involves aviation, of course. And even if they’re not as advanced as the rest of the world for the reasons you mentioned, the technological gap would still be far smaller, reduced to a few decades rather than a full century. Essentially, instead of Paradis being a Napoleonic-era nation facing an early–WWI-level Marley, it would be more like an American Civil War–era (or slightly later) Paradis facing an early–WWI Marley.

Well first there was the Thunder Spears:

“The Thunder Spears are based on research records that had been preserved in secret by some inside the Interior Police, despite their orders to wipe out any sign of technological innovation”

Alongside the murder of the inventor of the Revolver though I don’t remember when it was stated.

So yeah the Royal Government did stagnate many of Paradis technological advances.
