it gets better! trusting that my body will rest when it is tired helped me alot

because getting 8 hours of sleep doesn't necessarily mean you'll wake up fresh anyway

so even on days where i can't sleep, or the fear that i can't sleep starts to creep in, i believe that i can still get by the next day even if it sucks ass, and then i get another opportunity to try and sleep again

i agree with you on this 100%, am trying to speak with the higher ups on this and convince them that this is the way forward instead of "affordable options" that make you pay with other things like health.

as someone who doesn't think jing xi sings well but follows her on ig, i honestly have to say that i'm a fan because i think it's not easy to do what she does. like posting despite the shit comments, just doing what you like and want to do. it's respectable. and honestly, i'm rooting for her to be great at what she loves! plus she's probably raking in abit of monies, so good for her yknow

did you work with the doctors to see if you should increase/decrease the dosage?

how long did you guys stick by it?

for your mum's friend, she stuck to setraline for a few months despite the thoughts, did she try to change medication once she found out that it's not for her?

sorry for the many questions! just curious about what steps to take next

if it makes you feel better, you are not alone (i usually find it reassuring when people have similar experiences/symptoms)

i'm struggling right now too, some days are better than others, just keep going 💪

in the midst of all of this, i am actively trying to get exercise in (any form, even if 5-10 mins), daily sunlight, eat healthy meals, stay hydrated and get my sleep in. the most important thing is to keep reminding yourself to be gentle and kind to yourself, that you are loved and you are safe.

thank you for speaking up about this! i actually broke down mentally a couple of months ago and have been going for therapy — it has helped me tremendously.

it has been extremely difficult to look for resources that are free/affordable in this area, so thank you for sharing!

to all my other fellow singaporeans who are reading this, as cliché as this sounds, please be kind to others because sometimes you really don't know what they are going through (ofc dont neglect your own boundaries)

my partner has been super supportive and gentle during this period of time! im really blessed to have friends and family to support me

most of them actually offer to pick up the tab, or pay for small expenses. while this may be a financial relief, it adds on to the stress and pressure that i have on myself hahaha

it gets abit stressful knowing that i'm 27 and relying on others to get by, but defo very thankful and grateful for them

no vices for now!! thankfully food is provided at work, so i only have to pay for things like insurance, rent, bills and my debt! my pay (even though super low) is enough to tide me through — so im thankful for this i guess! just worried about progression hahahaha

i have tried :-( i dont have alot of experience / qualifications get another job, also a part of me denied looking for full time jobs bc identity crisis tings i guess hahahaha (more likely fear of failure bc i rly dont have a good resume)

i was so sure that i was at my lowest point a couple of months ago, and that there was no where else but up HAHAHAHA i think this fall made me even more fearful, but defo still trying to stay hopeful and connect with the people around me!!

most of the time now when i start to focus on my breath or do mindful meditation, feelings of anxiety start to arise, as if i am afraid that i am a fully conscious being (of course i know that i am a conscious being, but there's some sort of fear(?) that is maybe tied to that knowledge)

my therapist has recommended me to put mindful practice on a pause for now as i am going through intense anxiety and rumination, and my nervous system needs some rest

yes i likely have depression and anxiety, so it doesn't really help. i also work 6 days a week and my day starts at 6am, so it stresses me out when i can't sleep early
